I stayed at the pop century which is pretty similar. A lot of themed stuff that the kids like but the rooms are kinda ghetto

I don't think the rooms are ghetto at all for the price. You can see pictures on allearsnet.com.

Oh, and the toy story room on the allears site is the old decor. Scroll and look at the king for the updated.

I think it depends on what you are looking for. I know people who stay there and love it and others who hate the values. Most of the ones I know who like it are looking for a place to shower and sleep and maybe a counter service meal or two. A while back I was curious and looked at the AAA ratings for the values. They were given 2 stars. I think they are like a motel 6 perhaps. The rooms are very basic, no frills, they are small (smallest on property), double rather than queen beds, exterior corridors. I think they remind me of dorm rooms. If you are looking to save money, don't plan to spend a lot of time at the resort they are probably fine. The decoration is verybkid appealing with huge icons every where. They have large food courts but no sit down restaurant. The pools do not have slides but some have little water play areas and some have a playground. POP seems to be a little more popular. The little mermaid rooms at AOA should be cute for little girls. That sections opens next month. They now all have very tiny fridges (think college box ones). One big complaint I see is noise. This is the level hotel groups stay at. Sometimes they are reports of little supervision so yelling and running around late at night. Cheering etc. Also read that some people can hear rheir neighbors toilets flushing or showers running.
I would suggest that you go to allearsnet.com or disboards and look at a ton of photos posted and see if it looks like a place you would be happy at. Disney I think has a hotel for almost every budget or taste you just have to find your fit.
