How does Verizon decide who gets an alert? Is it by the GPS location of your phone?

Since both my phone and hubby's are were never 'transfered' we will have our NY numbers

OK now it's become annoying.
It's going off every 10 minues- saying either flash flood or tornado.
And every single one is a SEVERE alert.
Yet the sun is shining in my yard now.
It's becoming like the boy who cried wolf.

Got another tornado warning until 4:15PM on my phone but the rain has stopped here and the sun is out.
It can be sunny and you can have no rain and still have a tornado warning, because cloud formation was spotted on the radar. I grew up in place with a ton of tornadoes. Most of the time they happened after the storm was over and it was brighter out.
I'm amazed watching the news that the some of the people they are interviewing just have no idea what to do when there is a tornado watch. What if this stuff happened during school days, I wonder if they have a plan? Growing up we always had tornado drills in school, and knew what to do at home. Obviously they are becoming more prevalent here, so they really need to educate people.

It took me from 1:45 to 2:15 to get from 25A to Southern State on the Sagtikos.
IT WAS CRAZY BAD! Like you couldn't go more than 25 mph b/c you couldn't see a thing.
Every fiber of clothing I had on was drenched getting my kids into the car from camp.
