Any ideas for a creative way to tell my kids we are going to Disney?
I have seen some cute videos posted on YouTube and wanted to do something fun and creative. TIA
ETA- We are telling her the Sunday before at her family birthday party. We will actually be there on her birthday.

I think those videos where they surprise the kids are sooooo cute and they totally make me cry! That said, I read a study saying that said looking forward to and anticipating a big vacation is actually more exciting and enjoyable than the trip itself. I don't think I'll be doing a last minute surprise for DD (when we do finally go) becuase of this, I don't want to take away from her getting to look forward to the trip!
I still think you could do a cute way of telling them, say give them a Disney DVD, toy, clothes etc for their bday or holiday and say "guess what? We're going to Disney in a _ weeks (or whatever".

Re: Any ideas for a creative way to tell my kids we are going to Disney?
My parents surprised us with a trip to Jamaica when I was younger this way- for Christmas, my sister and I opened a HUGE joint gift. Inside was 2 pairs of flippers, goggles and another wrapped box. We unwrapped that box and inside was 2 swimsuits and another wrapped box. We unwrapped that box and found sunblock and another box. We unwrapped the last box to find plane tickets to Jamaica. I was around 10, so by the third box, I had figured out what the real present was and I started flipping out, I was so happy!!! We have it on video still. My sister was smaller, so she waited until the last box to figure it out. You could do something like that, maybe with Disney related things- a guide book, Mickey ears, Mickey dolls, etc. It was so memorable for me and I bet it would be for your kids too! Good luck in whatever you decide and have fun!!

My cousin did a scavenger hunt for his girls. He and his wife gave them three clues, the last one leading to a castle made out of their blocks. They had to knock down the blocks. Inside the castle was a picture with princess and Mickey stickers saying "We're going to Disney!"

One time Santa brought is for us for Christmas- we went 2 weeks later.
This time, I told my daughter that her fairy godmother at the Bippity Boppity Boutique just called and I was told that we have an appointment there in September. She has been begging to go back to the BBB so it was very exciting!

I feel so bad LOL AJ didn't get it at ALL!
I built it up, lets go see Mickey, etc. She's like "sure" meh. Do you want to go to that castle, do you want to meet Daisy? Umm sure.
Even at the Magical Express she didn't get it. The bus ride was fun so were people with Mickey hands but it didn't sink in.
I swear it wasn't until we walked up to the castle and she saw the actual live Mickey Mouse characters dancing and singing their performance .. she realized "OMG! its MICKEY!" LOL
It was the first thing we did (that castle show) and she did NOT want to leave. By the end of our trip she very much understood the "castle" and that this was Disney World.
She looks at photos and video now and says "Can I go to Disney World?" So she gets it.. finally. Next time we go we'll do a reveal and have fun with it.
First time? She just didn't get it
