update on my whats the point post
i havent had a chance to write but i wanted to take a moment.
about a month or so ago i had a veryyyy pathetic scared upset post bc my son had colic and i was at my wits end and terrified that it would never get better...i had horrible thoughts and feelings that i couldnt bear.
soooo many wonderful women reached out to me...and i am beyond touched still. if i forgot to write you back..please forgive me...i blame it on little sleep and insanity lol
my update...
my little braydon is sooo much better!!!!!
he went from morning to night almost non stop beligerent screaming to an almost always happyish baby about 75% of the time...around 10ish weeks.
at this point he is still a super clingy baby who still doesnt realllllly nap unless laying on you...once in a while i get 30 minutes in the swing.
before nothing worked. not the stroller not the car not the swing not the paci not bouncing nada zilch zip.
and i felt like i wasnt even a mother kwim?
he has days now that he only cries for an hour total!!! then again he has days that he is super beyond fussy crabby but thats nothing compared to what we went through.
he is 13w and is smiling cooing and just discovered his feet haha!
he is on alimentum, axid for reflux and a probiotic.
personally i think his colic might have been made worse by the 7day course of antibiotics he needed in the nicu.
i am writing because in my darkest hour...you lovely ladies took time out of your busy lives to write me and check in on me.
i truly felt like running away, hiding, and giving up completely. i remember standing outside my apartment in the pouring rain while dh held our screaming baby inside because i couldnt handle it anymore and i felt literally at the end of a tethered rope that i wanted to tie around my neck and this is coming from a woman who tried to have this baby for years with infertility treatments. i wanted this baby with my whole heart and it was broken when i couldnt make him happy.
so thank you all....its still super rough at times bc he is a baby and sleep is a precious commodity at times...but he is sooooo worth it and it DID get better like you all said it would.
i love lif and everyone here who helped me!!!!! big big drooly hugs!! hahah

What a wonderful update! My DS (with the same name in fact - different spelling) was the same exact way. I didnt struggle with infertility but wanted to be a mother my whole life and when it finally happened...it was awful. I always thought I'd be a "natural" because i was with my cousins and other babies/kids. With my own, i felt like failure and was such a shell of myself. Couldn't deal with the constant crying, misery, etc. and was angry with both myself and the baby for our circumstances. I'd literally stand at the front door waiting for DH to come home so i could hand him over. What a terrible terrible feeling. It took 6 loooooong months, but DS woke up one day a totally different child. Literally overnight went from this miserable little baby to a sweet lovable happy one. It made motherhood so much easier and i finally found my stride. Today, DS is 3.5 years and since he turned that corner he has been the best little boy...happy, adventureous, and an imagination like I've never seen. He's my best buddy and is overprotective and so sweet when it comes to his mama. I still feel a little pained that mommyhood did not come naturally to me, but truly believe i wouldnt have the bond with my son had we not been through those first few awful months together. Hang in there - it only gets better from here!

I remember many nights all THREE of us crying  NOthing wrong with sharing that motherhood is sometimes NOT all rainbows and lollipops!!!!

I can totally realate to you because I had the exact same situation- and it lasted for month and months- not weeks.
So you had and have my 100% empathy.
So glad to hear things are getting better for all of you!

so happy to hear that tings are turning around for you. please know that all the feelings you experience..you are never alone! some mom out there is going through what you are too and feels the same way and we're all here to help each other get through it.

I didnt see your original post but I am so happy that things are going well for you now!!! I know it is so hard when you feel like you are going to jump out of your skin and you cannot take one more second of crying. Thank goodness somehow it ends and when we see our smiling, happy, cooing LOs it makes it so worth it.

It is so difficult when you have waited so long for your precious baby and it's not anything like you expected. Motherhood is the hardest job in the world but also the most rewarding and you are doing a great job.
