do your dc grandparents have a car seat for each kid?
My inlaws currently have one britax marathon that they got when when ds1 was little but thats it. I have 2 dc and one on the way they have another grandson that they have often. They use this carseat for all the kids I hate it because they are not all the samr size and they don't adjust it ever.
Would it be wrong for me to ask them to get carseats or should I foot the bill??

When DS was born, my parents purchased a car seat for their car. When DD was born, we purchased that seat from them and put it in our car because we needed another car seat, and we knew that the likelyhood of them driving both kids around was slim. Plus, DS had only gone in the carseat maybe twice.
That said, I wouldn't have made my parents foot the bill for additional car seats if I wanted my kids in their car. If you are concerned that they don't adjust the straps, buy them another car seat and explain to them that it is for your child only because the straps are adjusted correctly for the size of your child.

IMO its wrong to ask UNLESS you are willing to pay.
My Ils have 1 car seat that I bought for them when they were watching DS1 FT while I worked. I am now a SAHM so I havent gotten them one for DS2.
THey will use this car seat for my 2 sons or my niece but really they very rarely drive my kids around now that I am home, so it really hasnt presented an issue.
Should I return to work in the future and they were babysitting, I would buy them a new one. IMO its not their responsibility financially to buy new seats for my kids.

DS is with my MIL a lot so we bought her a carseat.

They take my kids often but they end up taking my car because I hate removing and reinstalling carseats. So if I buy another seat would it be wrong to ask them not to use it for their other grandson or is that pushing it??

If you buy it just for your child, you can tell them that the straps are adjusted for your child and the seat is meant just for your child.
I don't let my kids go in each other's seats in our car, their seats are set for them and them only.

so your going to have a third, and they have a 4th grandkid.......
That means they can only fit three car seats across the back........they most likely would just use one of your carseats then when they have the 4th kid if they won't adjust straps then they aren't going to reinstall a different seat each time......
I'd be footing the bill if I wanted them to have a specific car seat in their car......

None have a carseat and I very rarely let anyone drive with them in the car.

My mom bought the base for our Chicco key fit 30 and then bought a Graco My Ride 65 when Em got bigger. We have 2 dc so when Mom has them they both fit. Sawyer needs the conv. car seat so my mom is buying him on ethis week. She will then have 2 Graco My Rides in her car. She did this when she was watching Em a lot, and to be prepared. It was all her idea and she just bought what we did. I didn't ask her to nor expected her to, she just wanted to do it. I am very grateful.
