How do you get your sick DC to sleep at night

DS is 17 months has double ear infections and high fever.

I got his fever down but he still won't go to sleep. He is not the type of kid you can rock to sleep.

What do you do??

lay with him in bed? let him hang with you and keep trying to put him down.

I feel so bad for him

He sleeps with us on days like that, he is comforted by us and we can monitor him.

I lay with them, or, they lay in our bed.

Hope he feels better soon.

I hold him in the glider and rock him to sleep. I'd put him in the crib when he was sound asleep. If he woke, back into the chair we went again.

If he doesn't want to sit with me in the chair, I stand and rock him back and forth while in his room.

It's tough on me, but at that point, I just want him to get some rest.

Thanks everyone! Fell asleep watching tv with dh slept through the night.

Night before I slept with him in guest room. Temps of 105 I want to be right with him.
