Family Fun Thread
I thought it would be a fun idea to start a thread of any local family friendly happenings in Nassau and/or Suffolk county. I know I'm always looking for something fun to do on the weekends and especially over the summer, such a free outdoor movie screening or outdoor concert. So, if you know of something that you think would be fun for the rest of us to know about please feel free to post it on this thread with as much info as you can provide (i.e.: date, location, cost, hours, links to a website if possible, etc....)
I'll get the ball rolling....

Re: Family Fun Thread
If anyone is not familiar with the children's singer Darlene Graham, this is a link to her upcoming concerts. I have seen her a few times and think she is a ton of fun to watch!
She has a few free shows weekdays at local libraries and I saw that over the summer she will be doing a few concerts at the LICM. Last summer she did a free concert at the Jones Beach band shell which was great....Hoping she does it again!

Re: Family Fun Thread
I like this thread! Hopefully it catches on!
I discovered the Holtsville Ecology Park a few weeks ago. It was GREAT!
It was a perfect thing to do on a nice day when you only have a little bit of time but want to get outside!

Re: Family Fun Thread
Thanks for sharing! I was wondering when she'd be back! We're totally going! :)
As for my most recent share....
I am currently taking my 14 month old son to a class in Merrick called Mom's and Tots. It is run by a woman Judy who is so unbelievably sweet and the class is incredible. She does circle/song time, free play time, crafts and then reads a story while the kids eat their lunch (that we bring from home). Such an adorable class for that age group.
She also does a separation class for children a little older (pre-pre school age).
