Mmr ruling in Italy

Did anybody else hear that a court ruled the mmr caused autism in a child in italy? Didnt want to start any arguments but I find this very interesting being that the mainstream media isn't reporting on it.

I heard about too... But not through mainstream media. I don't expect mainstream media to report it either.

Re: Mmr ruling in Italy

insane. i wonder if the vaccine in italy has the same "components" as the one used here. i didn't realize there were different kinds, but that's what the linked article seems to suggest.

I'm so glad to see this posted on this site. Vaccines are something EVERYONE should research. Forget the opinons on it...as a parent, everyone should be reading the inserts that come with the vaccines BEFORE they are administered to your child.

The number of children they've tested the vaccine on is listed as well as the reactions that have occured. You'd be surprised at the findings.

Also, I bet many here are unaware of the National Vaccine Injury Compensation funded by a tax on every vaccine dose. The compensation fund holds pharma companies harmless...if your child dies from an adverse reaction...you can't sue Merck, SofiPasteur whoever, just file for compensation from the fund.

These are facts. If you know this and decide to fully vaccinate your child then more power to you, I respect that. It's the herd who never bothers to question and believes everything blindly that bothers me.

Everytime I say I am vaccine shy or on a spread out schedule I get the IMMEDIATE label of "She thinks MMR Causes Autism, pfft" no I never said that. I believe ALL of our vaccines we give our children should be questioned.

MMR has become a scape goat to lay aside any 'silly worries' about vaccines because we have some clinical trials proving that ONE component in it is ok. Great so if you get food poisoning from a chicken dinner and test the chicken and it was ok, then it just CAN'T Be any othe part of the meal?

Kids are getting sick
Kids are having severe reactions
Kids are DYING

Why is it so hard to look at vaccines as a cause? Is it because its too scary to know that what should be protecting us is killing the most defenseless? Is it too much to ask that these ultra rich mega pharms take the responsibility?

Re: Mmr ruling in Italy

I wonder if they changed the schedule and recommended kids receiving the MMR vaccine at 3 instead of at 12-15 months would it have any effect. There is some link to nervous symptoms not being mature enough when they administer the MMC vaccine. I just wonder if they have ever contemplated that.

I agree we should educate ourselves b/c hey, why not- but once you've read the inserts, then what? It's not as easy as only eating organic or something like that. IMO the labels ARE scary but it's a risk/ benefit analysis.

It's not easy at all. I think once you read and research you have to trust your intuition. Perhaps your gut will tell you to unvax or perhaps delay one...or spread out a few or perhaps because you've researched so much you decide NOT to combine MMR with Varicella because both are live vaccines going into a 12 month old body at once. Maybe you decide to wait until your child is 3 years old and the nervous system is more developed.

It's not just autism either, diabetes, severe allergies, SIDS....there's so much. I know most of our kids are ok even if we fully follow the CDC schedule and I thank God for that but many are not.

Many children are succeptible to the build up of toxins (found in many things but injected directly into the blood stream via vaccines) such as aluminium, mercury, formaldehyde ect which are preservatives in vaccines. It's up to us as parents to decide what makes sense for our children while balancing the public health.

i am not anti vaccine. however, i do believe we administer too many vaccines at too early of an age. i know someone who's son was injured by the MMR vaccine. he is essentially a vegetable now. its not just about autism, but other behavioral disorders, sensory issues, allergies, autoimmune disorders, etc.

im waiting until my son is 4 to start the MMR.

Well said. I think the problem is that most of us just want to TRUST someone, be it the CDC, FDA or our pediatrician. No one wants to be a consipiracy theorist. It's tough enough being an adult, tougher being a parent and then to have to question what is being fed to you are "safe"?

Just want to add...I'm pro-vaccine, especially those I received as a child in the early 80's. My son is being vaxed on an alternative schedule.

My kid sreceived their vaccines after 6 months and extremely spaced out. They still have not received the MMR and I was almost ready to give it to them. I think I will just wait until 4-4.5 to do it.

Just curious I'm not looking to debate or start trouble it is just a I wondering- if you give it for the 1st time at 4-4.5 how do you send your DC to K? Do you give the second shot 6 months later? I ask only because when I registered DD for K I had to give her in last years health form - and they sent me a form and a letter that said she couldn't start school until she had her second booster (which she was going to get at her 5 year visit which we hadn't had at the time). They even said at orientation that if you didn't have all your shots even your 2nd booster of MMR that they would not allow your child into the classroom on the 1st day.

I'm interested in this as well! I recently registered DS for pre-K and they gave me the same story. I thought we had the right to not vaccinate in this country? They made it seem like I had absolutely no choice.

For me, this is why it's so scary. No one knows for sure what causes autism. The people involved in this court case swear their son changed THAT night after the shot. But kids who aren't getting vaccinated are being diagnosed as well.

I agree with the other posters about being educated on what we're giving our kids....not just with vaccines, but with the food we give them, medications we give, etc etc. It's a scary world and it feels like nothing is truly "safe" anymore.

You can go the religion route if you need to. I live in NC and they will not to go K until they are almost 6. Cutoff here is August 31st and they turn 5 Nov 24th, so if I got them early enrolled, they would be only 4 for 3 months which I think may be too young...

Re: Mmr ruling in Italy

I have a Q. I have done all vaccines on schedule. I have done my research and this is what I feel comfortable with. DS is almost 9 months, and does not go to a day care. Would my dr be okay with delaying the MMR till he starts preschool at 3. Is this common or will they fight me? Any experiences?
Want to add, this is not due to this ruling, I find a lot flawed with this ruling. Just due to other possible reactions and again my comfort level.

You will have to speak with your Dr cause each one has different views on it.

My DD did not receive her MMR until after 2. While we knew we wanted to wait, it was my Dr who saw no reason to give it to her earlier since she was not in daycare either. Talk to your Dr and see what they say.

The only reason they need a second booster is because the shot is given so early at 15 months. If you hold off until 4, they won't need a second booster. The vaccine is still "alive" in their system. You can also have blood drawn and have them check to see if the titers (I think?) are still present in their blood and then your DC won't even need a second booster.

I have friends who have done this with their children and it has been accpted by their schools as well.

You have a right not to vaccinate. And preschools have a right to not accept you. Same for schools. If you don't want to vaccinate you can homeschool.
*shrug* haha yeah right its that simple! LOL

AJ's bday is in August so she'll be 5 just in time for Kindergarten. I am keeping her in a private school so I don't have to deal with the drama. My private school does not require the MMR. I am spreading out the 4 shots due at 4yrs - 6yrs of age. She'll get one every 6months from age 4 through age 6. She'll start 1st grade in public school at age of 6 and all shots in.
