5 month old needs a haircut!
hello ladies - I have a question... DS has a lot of hair, (starting to get really long in the back!) and I need to take him to get a haircut! Do any of your LO's have long hair and did you take them for a trim, or did you just do it yourself?? I'm nervous to do it myself! lol!

DS was much older, but I had a hard time cutting his hair the first time. We asked the hair dresser to keep it long and just trim it up and she did a great job. She just cut with the scissor to keep the baby look.

DS got a trim in the back at 3 months by my SIL bc I was too scared to do it. but a month later it was in his face so I tried myself. I tried to do it the way I've seen hairdressers do it, and it actually came out cute! People kept assuming I'd taken him to have it cut. I surprised myself bc I thought I couldn't do it. So trust yourself and give it a shot! I bet you'll do great. :)

thanks ladies! my SIL cuts her DS's hair all the time and it looks good, I guess I could ask her... or I may just take him to zippity doos in merrick, anyone ever been there??

I took my DS just shy of 5 months too. I brought him to a place just for the 1st haircut so we could have cute "baby's 1st haircut" pictures for his baby book. I've cut his hair myself each time after.
I wouldn't really recommend where I went, but people seem to like the place you referenced above.

I took DS to zippity doos in Roslyn and they did a great job with my son's hair and kept him occupied with an elmo dvd and toys. I plan on taking him back in a few months.

Love them here. They blonde hair dresser is awesome and fast. They are expensive but I have tried 2 other kids places and they did not so great jobs but here are great.
