How do you cope with the lack of coffee?
Got the no caffeine order from my doc this time around again. I'm hurting without it! I need at least one cup a day or I'm just no good. I know last time I quickly got used to it and was shocked that I didn't even miss it but I'm NOT at that point yet! How do you deal? Any helpful tips?

Why did they tell you no? My doc said a cup a day is fine...

I wish they told me that! I was told "no caffeine". I know the march of dimes says there is some limit to stay under though.

Decaf lattes - iced if they have it... doesn't give me the kick I need, but I pretend...

Re: How do you cope with the lack of coffee?
I used to start every morning with a big cup of coffee, but stopped upon getting pregnant. It was tough at first, but now I'm used to it. When I really need something, I'll have a snapple iced tea.

Re: How do you cope with the lack of coffee?
Luckily the smell of hot coffee makes me want to gag, so that fixed that for me. I used to drink 3-20oz coffees a day, easy. Now i do 1 small or medium decaf iced coffee and thats that. Im surprised the caffeine withdrawal didnt effect me. Try drinking decaf and lying to yourself

Re: How do you cope with the lack of coffee?
I was told 300 mg of caffeine a day is the limit (about 3 cups). I have 1 cup of half decaf half regular in the morning and on occasion if I really need it I'll do another 1/2 and 1/2 later in the day, but rarely.
I also don't drink iced tea or eat much chocolate so I am not getting it anywhere else.

If your doc ok's it, try a b6 supplement. I found it really gave me a boost, and I actually forgot about needing my coffee.

Re: How do you cope with the lack of coffee?
I stopped drinking coffee around 8 weeks bc I was having annoying heart palpitations. I am almost 22 weeks now, and I am still not coping well. I drink a big cup of water on the way to work and pretend that's enough to get me through the day

Re: How do you cope with the lack of coffee?
I drink about 8oz of regular a day. If I'm really craving more I have decaf and pretend its regular.

If you need something to wake you up, eat an apple. It's better waking you up than coffee.

Re: How do you cope with the lack of coffee?
I drink one small cup every day. I wanted to switch to decaf but read on a lot of boards it's better to drink reg than decaf because decaf has substances and you don't want that for a baby. So I went back to regular. But who knows....

Re: How do you cope with the lack of coffee?
I was a big coffee drinker. I cut down to one cup of half decaf/half regular in the mornings only. If I am at a party or something I'll usually have a small cup of coffee with dessert. A small amount is totally safe.
