Silly question from first time mommy about swim diapers for a baby...
Probably a very silly question...but I was looking at swim diapers today for my 6 1/2 month old. Do they only wear the swim diapers in the water? Are they tight enough to not leak? Or do they need to also wear something over them? Some said they did on the package...some not. Can you recommend a brand or type that works best for you? Thanks!!

We've always used Huggies Little Swimmers. Keep in mind that swim diapers aren't meant to hold pee. They are made to be non-absorbent so they don't soak up all the pool/ocean water and blow up. So they are only used to "catch" poop, the pee just leaks right out.

Like a pp said they are only to catch the solids. If they pee they will leak out. I suggest a cloth swim diaper. You can go on etsy.com and search cloth swim diaper. It's very easy and cheaper if you will use a lot of swimmies. All you do is rinse the poop out into a toilet and then wash like normal. I bought ours from zookies store on etsy. You could also go to gogonatural.com and look under swim diapers as well.
