I drove to PA by myself to see my cousins two weeks before I was due. I worked until a week before my due date. And I was out at a pool hall the night before I was due.
I don't think it's weird or wrong

Absolutely I still drive! With my first, I drove myself alone down the LIE from out east (where I worked) an hour to the hospital while in early labor.

hmm i wonder why they'd think it's strange? i'm not PG (anymore!) but i can't think of many things i didn't do up until the very last minute! this include cleaning the bathroom and other hated chores.
i remember people being more surprised that i drove the day after my kids were born and i'd had a c-section. i didn't drive down the highway or anything but had no choice to drive locally.

I drove the night before my water broke. If my dh would have let me I would have driven to the hospital. No reason to stop driving.

I didn't drive after 38 weeks last pregnancy. I played it by ear. I just didn't feel well enough to or safe enough. I actually didn't ride in the car much either after that point.

Same reason for me. Last pregnancy I stopped driving at 7 months because my belly was pressed up against the wheel. When I moved back I couldn't reach the peddles.
This pregnancy I'm on bed rest so no driving since 24 weeks. Although I was almost hitting the wheel at that point.
I think people get surprised at very pregnant women driving is because many are close to the wheel -- dangerous if you have an airbag you can't turn off.

considering how big i am pre preg and now with my belly i am still quite a few inches away from steering wheel.
i think those who look at me funny think ..oh if she goes into labor that its dangerous to be driving m aybe?
who knows..only have a couple days left now...but i wondered what others reactions were :) ty all!

I drove myself to my appointments up until 38wks when I was induced. As long as ur comfy and there's room from ur belly to steering wheel. Just remember to adjust your lap belt under your belly.

I did drive locally at the very end... I went into labor at my friend's house while visiting her and her newborn actually.
I tried to time he drive home between contractions (DH and I were caravanning since we had two cars there) but had a contraction while driving home. I breathed through it.
But ugh I could NOT have driven myself to the hospital!!
