7 month old sleep hell....
Any advice for a FTWM with a 7 month old that is not sleepingh through the night? He wakes up at least twice and will not go back to sleep. I THINK he may be teething but this has been going on for a couple of weeks. Last night I had to hold him several times in the middle of the night and finally gave him Tylenol since I then assumed something was bothering him. We were just at the doctors and ears are beautiful, no sign of infection. How long can sleep be interrupted with teething before a tooth FINALLY pops out? And is it abnormal for a 7 month old to still wake at night? DS1 was an AWESOME sleeper, always was, and CIO worked beautifully for him. DS2 is MUCH MUCH different, night and day for DS1 in every way. CIO does NOT work with him AT ALL, and that pains me to say that b/c I am a very FIRM believer in that method. It just doesn't work.... Any suggestions on the teething, sleeping or anything at all would be much appreciated. I am sufferring through work every.single.day and it STINKS.....

I feel your pain. DS will be 8 mths next week and has been doing this for the past few weeks  I just wish he would get teeth already...I feel so bad for him. All I keep telling myself that he will eventually go back to STTN ( I hope).

I have 7 month old twins, but their adjusted age is 5 months. Their sleep keeps being interupted by teething. It sucks. and mine still have their startle reflex, that is the other things that wakes them up they break out of their swaddles

I would get his ears rechecked, especially if he has any cold-like symptoms. I brought dd to the ped and was told she was fine. Two days later, I brought her ti om pediatrics and sure enough, ear infection. If not that, then I would assume it's teething.

My almost 10 month old still doesn't sleep though the night and gets up numerous times per night. He has been teething (for months) and has about 8 teeth in. The ped mentioned he was getting a whole lot of teeth at once when she saw his gums, and suggested using Motrin rather than Tylenol because it works better, but I think they have to be a certain weight.
I tried Ferber a few times and maybe I'm not consistent enough but he wakes every night several times. At this point my goals is to have him sleeping through the night at 1 year. This is my first but I never expected to have sleep like this for so long.
ETA: When I did Ferber the times he woke would decrease from say 8 to 1 or 2 times, but this was way before the teeth were coming through. I did try a full on CIO recently for 3 straight nights (expecting great results) but he still woke a few times, and then I realized he was teething.

I would try Motrin. DS got the Ok at 6 months. It's weight based, so check with your ped. There's no harm in giving it at bedtime. If it works, it works. And then you know that your LO is experiencing some discomfort.
This happened to us about a week before DS cut his first tooth and again a few nights before he cut his second. I gave him Motrin and he didn't make a peep for the rest of the night.

In a situation like this, if he hadn't been sleeping well for a few days, I would give him some Motrin. It usually helped all of us get some sleep.

Some babies just have a hard time settling themselves down. Is there a way your DH can get up with him sometimes- so you can get more sleep?
It won't last- even though while you are in the middle of it- it seems like it is never-ending..

It won't last- even though while you are in the middle of it- it seems like it is never-ending..
This is what im afraid of. He did have reflux and we stopped meds at about 6 1/2 months. Right about the time this started. Now I am thinking i should try those meds again to se if he is still refluxing. He is on solids, stage 2, 3 times/day. I just dont know what to do. Even when i tried motrin he wakes shortly after being put down. I though that may be upseting his tummy so i tried tylenol tonight. Its so hard.

My older DS had reflux and it interfered with sleep, that was why I suspected it. It sounds like he is eating well. If the motrin doesn't help, I really doubt teething. Can you try putting him on the meds again and see if that helps?? maybe rice in his last bottle before bed to weigh it down so it doesn't repeat on him?

We are seeing the ped on monday. Im thinking we will start meds again but i want to rule ears out first and talk to the ped. Do you remember how old your ds was when he outgrew the reflux? Isnt 8 mos a long time for a baby to have it or be medicated for it?
