dental visit...Yes to flouride treatment?
I plan on saying no for xrays and now questioning the flouride treatment only because if ds has to sit there for 5 minutes with flouride and not to swallow it he wont do it.
Do you say yes to flouride treatment? How long do they have to sit there with flouride?

The flouride my DS's dentist uses is a foam so it doesn't really drip. That being said, DH doesn't really want him to have the flouride tx. Sometimes we get it, sometimes we don't. When we do, he uses less of the foam than he normally would.

Yes! Topical fluoride is NOT the same as systemic! Parents often get them confused. Topical fluoride will only help strengthen the teeth and is not harmful because it is not ingested.

Yes, my DS gets the fluoride treatment. My pediatric dentist uses a fluoride varnish that sticks to the teeth so she just rubs it on and that's all.
He doesn't have to sit there at all to wait because the varnish stays on his teeth throughout the day.

This is what my pediatric dentist does. The only thing is they have to eat soft food, nothing crunchy or sticky for 6 hours

ds is 2.5 and needs flouride treatment due to an enamel disorder. i have no choice, but i was never told he can't swallow. she just brushes the flouride on his teeth.
eta...he can't brush his teeth or take his flouride vitamins for 2 days after.
