I did it accidentally. After going through the past 7 years of posts and hiding/deleting the ones I didn't want shown, it went live. I don't even see the timeline unless I click on my profile, which I almost never do.

Same here.
I made the switch months ago and I really like it. BUT I don't like that the privacy settings aren't as customizable as they used to be.
How so? I am always worried that I am missing something but what I did was I made everything viewable by "FRIENDS EXCEPT restricted" and I put almost 100 people in restricted. . . every once in a while I check and the settings are right for what I post. . .
The filtering is less specific.
I liked having the ability to allow only certain people to post on my wall and view certain stuff.
Now, everyone either can or cannot post on my wall. As for viewing it's become more cumbersome to limit people. I have to create a list, define what that list can or cannot do and then add people to that list and now with subscribing there's another piece to the puzzle. Plus the whole feed on the side that no matter what I do, doesn't seem to limit what gets posted there (posting things I do or about my stuff..).
It's just more of a PITA

Oh I switched my biz page last week! LOVE it! great way to feature in the banner and have logo in the profile pic

Same here, I don't like the look of it-it reminds me of myspace
I decided not to join pinterst because it wanted to force me over.

I didn't switch yet bc I'm rarely on the computer. I use FB from my phone. Mine hasn't been switched yet.

I LOATHE the timeline. I don't have it for myself, but if I'm viewing someone's page who has it, my computer gets all slow and keeps going back to the top of the page. Then again, maybe it's just my sucky computer.

According to THIS site, all profiles will be switched to timeline on 3/30/12 if they haven't already been moved over to the new format by the users.

I like the way the business page looks. My only issue with it is that it really hides the stuff other people post on the wall. I feel like those things should be as highlighted as what we're posting. It's hard to remember to even notice whether there are new posts, because they're all bunched together with the old ones. I haven't published the new page yet, so I'm still toggling back and forth between the two formats. So far, I have been toggling to the old format in order to respond to other people's posts. I guess I'll have to be more vigilant about it once the switch is made, but I don't think it's ideal.

I HATE Timeline. If it switches automatically, I just wont be logging on very much anymore.

Every page that has timeline I have the same issue with. When I go to someone's page with timeline it gets all vertigo on me and keeps jumping back up to the top. I rarely go on anyone;s page with timeline anymore. And when people add SO much to thier timeline it clogs the newsfeed. Nonstop lifetime events of all thier travels,etc. Almost a bit narcisstic
I think it is better for business pages
