Do you discuss politics with your SO?
I don't think DH and I can talk about it anymore - especially in an election year. We are almost polar opposites when it comes to the way we think this country should be run, which would be fine, but because he thinks he knows more about world affairs than I do (which is sometimes true, sometimes not) he makes me feel about three inches tall when we get into a debate. Maybe I need a thicker skin, I don't know

I do but we have similar views. I will say that DH considers himself an independent whereas I am a democrat so he sometimes has a slightly different view on things and it INFURIATES me when he does so if he were conservative we would NOT discuss politics at all.

Nope. DH talks and I just smile and nod. Although I don't agree with him a lot. It's just not arguing about it.

My DH has views that mirror his parents which do not benefit him or our family. He does not watch the news, read a newspaper or follow anything. All his information has been regurgitated from his family with their own twisted slant. There is no use discussing anything with him.

We don't discuss politics much but if and when we do, it's an easy discussion to have...................we have the same views on everything. Kind of a boring discussion!

yes because we have mostly the same views so its mostly always discussions about how right we are and how wrong everyone else is! haha! But I think if we were polar opposites, it would be difficult.

Yes...sometimes we do. We agree on some issues, and we disagree on others. It really doesn't bother either of us. DH doesn't care a whole lot about politics, and I'm pretty open minded about politics. It's more important to us that we agree on private, family values than political values...if we differed there, I could see problems arising.

We talk about things, but don't always see eye to eye. If something becomes a sore subject, we have to just agree to disagree and stop talking about it.

Yes, we do have similar views.
I was raised discussing US and world events at the nightly dinner table. Holidays were always filled with civil political discussion even though my uncles and father differed on some issues.
It's such a part of my daily life I have a hard time relating to people who just don't pay attention to it at all and only gravitate towards pure entertainment.
I don't think I could be married to someone who took no interest in it at all.
