Where are you having your baby sleep?
When you first come home for the first few weeks/months...
We were planning on having a bassinet on our bedroom in the beginning, but I heard they are unsafe?

The baby will be sleeping in our room for a while. At least until i go back to work. We have the graco Travel lite cribs, they're a little bigger than a bassinet and just like a mini pack in play. The twins were in there for a few months. We plan on using it with this baby too.

We used a bassinet in our room for the first 6-7 weeks for DS #1 and we are going to do the same for DS #2.

With Dd we had her in our room in a bassinet for about 7 weeks - but her room was not initially finished and then I just got use to her being there and was reluctant to put her in her own room
With this DC - i think i am going to put them in their crib from day 1 in their own room

I had DS in his bassinet until he was 8 weeks. He was HUGE and really needed to be moved. I was so reluctant doing it, but DH convinced me to do it. PS. First night in crib he slept 9 hrs straight.
That being said this baby will be in the bassinet, but should they be the same size as DS I will move them sooner.

DS#1 was in his crib in his own room from day 1 and so will DS#2. We have the baby monitor on him. It was fine

Used an actual bassinet for my first 2. Since I don't have it anymore, the new baby will sleep in the Rock and Play Sleeper or the pack and play bassinet for the first 3 months, and then into the crib.

We are planning on having the rock and play in our bedroom for the first few weeks. Then, hopefully, we'll transition into the crib.

He'll probably sleep in our room for quite a while. I used a cosleeper with DD and DH was on midnights at the time so when she was too big she moved to our bed until just about a year. I EBF so it just made my life easier.

our bedroom is super small plus we have a house the size of an apartment with the 2nd bedroom being right next door so i think we will have the baby be in his or her crib with a baby monitor from day 1

We're planning to have the baby sleep in our room for the first few months in the PNP. Especially since our house gets hot in the summer and I'm due in April, I'll feel better being able to keep a closer eye on the temp and always know how he's doing.

Bassinets are safe. Having the baby in your actual bed can be unsafe.
Our first LO was in a bassinet in our room for 3 months, and our next baby will have the same arrangement.

My DD slept in the bouncer for her first 2 months of life! It was the only place she would sleep through the night and yes, we had it on vibrate all the time!
At 2 months we transitioned her to the crib and she did just fine so she was in the crib after that no problem.
To be honest every child is different...so we will have a few places for the baby to sleep and whatever works!
Some kids sleep best in their carseats.
Some sleep in the pack and play..
Some sleep in RNP...or a bouncer...or a swing...
We will have a few of these options availabe and will go with whatever works.
I babysit a 3 year old and she gets dropped off at my house at 6:20am Monday through Friday. I am only taking 2 weeks off...so honestly however I can get this kid to sleep the best --- that will be our plan!

We registered for a co-sleeper, which we will have in our room in the beginning. I think we are going to try to use it as a bassinet at first and then we'll see if we want to hook it next to the bed. I def see myself as being really anxious so I have a feeling we will want to attach it to the bed when all is said and done.

I made the mistake of having DS#1 in the rock and play in our room and he refused to sleep anywhere else for months. We tried everything. He didn't sleep in his crib once and he is 17 months old. DS#2 is due next month so we just got DS#1 a twin bed and it's a struggle trying to make this transition because he is so used to sleeping with us.
Baby#2 is going RIGHT into the crib from the start. I can't deal with this again lol...lesson LEARNED! I EBF so it was easier to have DS with us but harder in the long run. Now he is addicted to our bed and the boob. I will still EBF #2 I just need to find a better system.
