When did you start using a pillow/blanket for DC?
My mom keeps asking me when DD (who is almost 10 months) can start sleeping with a blanket. She's now using a fleece sleep sack and seems to do fine with it but I'm curious when people usually switch. Thanks!
What age did you start using a blanket?
What age did you start using a pillow?

My boys always had a blanket. I got them pillow pets around 15mo. They love their blankies but still aren't huge fans of pillows.

pillow I'm guessing around a year or just before. It was the easiest way to keep her elevated.
Blankets were even earlier. I have photos of her in her blankets in NY so I would say around 6m?

pillow and blanket for DD when she moved into her toddler bed at 2. DS is 6 months and I will occasionally put a blanket on him for a nap but never at night...he wears sleepsacks. no pillow.

Re: When did you start using a pillow/blanket for DC?
I started using a blanket around 6-7 months. DS was sick and he wanted his fleecie blanket for comfort. He wasn't the best sleeper but, that seemed to help him sleep better so I did it (reluctantly at first). He still totes around his "guckie" for comfort.
For pillows - DS has one but, he uses it on our bed to watch TV - I tried putting it in his crib and he finds it easier to sleep laying flat (and I don't like it in the crib because I can see it making it easier for him to climb out).

WOW on the blankets. My DD is 19 mos and I still can't give her one b/c she moves ALL over the crib at night...it would never stay on her I feel like. No pillow either - I just don't really see the need for a pillow. DD wears a sleepsack with legs.

DS is 22 months and still doesn't use blankets or a pillow.
I think once he transitions into a toddler bed we'll give him a blanket and pillow. Right now he sleeps in fleece footie pj's and I have a sleep sack for him in case it's really cold, but so far haven't needed to use it.

Same! DS loves his blankets he even knows how to cover himself. I always gave knitted kanketa only. He has had a pillow pet in there as well, sometimes he uses it. DS is currently 19 mo the but had blankets from the start (after swaddling)

At about 12 months she had blankets and a pillow pet in there. She just plays with the pillow pet and she bunches up the blankets and uses them as a pillow. One day she'll figure out how to cover herself up!

Around 17 months but his pillow is VERY flat and I give him small blankets or else he gets all tangled.

We gave DS a blanket at about 18 months. We just gave him his pillow pet about 2 weeks ago (he's 21 months), but he doesn't know how to use it. The pillow pet is usually on the opposite end of his crib.

Re: When did you start using a pillow/blanket for DC?
DS started using a pillow (toddler pillow i got at BRU) maybe around age 2 1/2? Probably started using blanket around that age too.
We were not in a rush. He is a wild sleeper and has no idea where he is at night. At 18 months we thought he would do fine with a blanket. LUCKILY, at 6 am one morning, DH just happened to look at him on the monitor and saw that the blanket was WRAPPED AROUND HIS HEAD.
I say put them in warm pjs.

Re: When did you start using a pillow/blanket for DC?
DS1 always had a blanket, I losely swaddled him until 9 months. I would put him to bed swaddled, he would break out (still sleeping) and before I went to sleep I would sneak in a put a light blanket over him.
He got a pillow at 14 months. He got sick, I wanted to elevate the mattress but forgot to I stuck a pillow under his head. He loved it and never looked back.
DS2 is 9m. He sleeps in a sleep sack. He prefers to be warm and like his brother moves alot while sleeping, but unlike his brother he wakes up if he is uncomfortable, ie cold, so I am sticking with teh sleep sack for awhile!
