How do you store your recipes? (Printouts, handwritten, tear-outs from magazines, etc.)
Right now all of mine are chucked in an old tea tin...looking for ideas for something nicer.
Thanks!

Re: How do you store your recipes? (Printouts, handwritten, tear-outs from magazines, etc.)
I just went through 3 years of Food Network magazines and pulled out the recipes I wanted to try.
Unfortunately, they are all in a big messy pile.
So - I am very interested in tips too.
Sorry, I'm no help!

At least yours have the tea tin! Mine are just shoved in between the pages of random cookbooks.
I've thought about making a binder for them. I should really get on that. It'd definitely make life easier!
Curious to see everyone else's ideas.

Re: How do you store your recipes? (Printouts, handwritten, tear-outs from magazines, etc.)
i try so hard to be organized with them!
1) I have a binder with clear sleeves and I put the recipes in the sleeves.
2) I have a book that I write them in (have not kept up on that, my my go to recipes are in there)
3) I have a bunch in a basket on the desk wtih food stains all over them,

Re: How do you store your recipes? (Printouts, handwritten, tear-outs from magazines, etc.)
If I see a recipe I like I tear it out or print it up. I then try it within a reasonable amount of time. If it's good, I then put it in a plastic sleeve in a binder with any notes I made when I cooked it. My binder is organised by beef, poultry, side dishes, soups, etc. I then look through it once a year and clean it out and reorganise, etc.
Now if I could only organise other things better...

I have a huge binder with everything I rip out of magazines or print off websites. I have the binder organized into categories, like Chicken, Beef, Fish, Salad, Soup, Appetizers, Holiday, etc.

I have a binder with protector sheets and dividers. I also type or scan recipes and e-mail it to myself in GMail. I created a label called recipes and archived them all (thank you Google!). God forbid I lose my binder, at least I have digital copies still filed away in my e-mail!

i've just started using an app on my ipad called pepperplate..it's online too, but i find it a great way to organize my recipes
i'm slowly putting things into the app..i can print them out, and i can organize them if i want to in binders.
for now, i can tag the by the type of recipe, see all the recipes of a certain type i have, add them to a menu planner, create a shopping list, etc.
it's fantastic!!
over time, i'd like to create a family cookbook on blurb or something with pics of my family cooking-prob won't happen until i have kids

Re: How do you store your recipes? (Printouts, handwritten, tear-outs from magazines, etc.)
I use a notebook binder with clear sleeves. I have it sectioned and organized with all my magazine recipes and print outs. I put the ones I have not tried in the folder part and when I try it I make notes and rate it and then I put it in the sleeved sections (if its good). That way I know all of the recipes are yummy. I love how its a binder but is folds, I can fold it to the recipe and lean it on the counter. I also love how it wipes clean. You can add your own cover too. I also made one for my Mom, Sister and Aunt, they are a great present!!

I have a recipe box. Whatever I cut/copy I tape or glue onto a index card and then they are filed alphabetically in the box.
When I pick something out to to cook I just take out that card.
A binder sounds better though :)

This is what I do.
Write/clip recipe, attach to a piece of construction paper so I can put mulitple recipies on a page and both sides, and then put into plastic sleeve and into a 3 ring binder.
That way you can take just the page you need out of the binder and move it closer to cooking area. Its one sheet so it's light, small and plastic so easy wipe if it gets dirty.
I put 'untested' recipes in the front/back pockets, and after they are tested and 'approved' they are moved into a plastic sleeve and put in the appropriate spot or added to an existing page if there is room.

Re: How do you store your recipes? (Printouts, handwritten, tear-outs from magazines, etc.)
I bought a little cute book, like a spiral recipe notebook, I cut out some recipes and pasted them in, some I hand wrote, and if they are too big, I put them in a looseleaf type notebook.

Re: How do you store your recipes? (Printouts, handwritten, tear-outs from magazines, etc.)
I have an entire collectionnon the computer of "haven't made"
I also have a digital & paper version of any recipe I have made & was worth keeping to make again. The paper copies are types & in plastic sleeves in a binder. I like to be able to flip thru them when I need ideas.
I still have TONS I haven't made yet.

I have them printed out, stuck to the fridge, on top of the fridge, in the basket of mail, on the end table....
I really need to be better organized!

Re: How do you store your recipes? (Printouts, handwritten, tear-outs from magazines, etc.)
I was actually working on this over the weekend.... When I first got married, I bought a binder, filled it with plastic sleeves, and was intent on filling it up with recipes that I liked. The truth is that every recipe I pulled out of a magazine or printed was haphazardly shoved into this binder (not in the plastic sleeves) and the binder overflowed into 3 times its original width, held together but a huge rubberband so that its contents wouldn't fall out.....
I began to sort through the recipes this weekend, tossed a bunch of recipes, and started to organize the recipes I would like to keep.
