My DS slept in his little lamb swing until he was 7 months old and yes it was moving the entire night!!!:

Did yours have a waistband or a 5 pt harness? My version just had a waistband, no 5 pt harness and I found my DD slumped over at the waist one time. It was scary and awful and I never could trust it for sleeping if I wasnt up and watching as she would slump over. I def felt she wasnt secure in that swing. I am trying to figure out if they changed it as I always felt that was a major flaw of it.

It did not, but honestly my DS never moved in that thing once he was sleeping. Even for naps and I watched him in it, he never sat up and tried to get out.

My DD napped in her little lamb swing until she was about 6 months old. The first 2 months of her life she slept in the bouncy seat which was placed in the bassinet.

I say go with whatever works for you.

Have you tried putting a crib wedge in the crib?

Also, my little lamb swing only has the belt strap but it tilts in two positions--sitting and laying down. I always had her in the laying down position when she napped.

Naps are not easy, that will take time so just stick to it and hang in there.

At night, put your DC to bed at normal time and do CIO. My DS cried for 1 1/2 hours, went to sleep, woke up again a few hours later and cried and went back, it took a good few days for him to STTN without waking up.

The thing is, we never rocked DS to sleep or had to stay in his room until he went to sleep but with the swing, I guess the incline and motion was enough. With the crib he would freak the second he would lay in it, but I am telling you that it will get better, just give it some time an stick to it.

Within a week, my DS was sleeping within min's we put him down and going from 7:30pm-7:30am without getting up once. We would lay him down, give him a kiss and close the door. Even if he cried, we stuck to it and he learned it's time to just go to sleep.

Dd loves her swing she is 6 and a half months old and in the very beginning we used to have her sleep at night in the rock and play and naps in her swing...the swing had the straps over the shoulders nd the waist she still to this day naps in her swing and she sleeps at night in her crib. If you let you lo sleep in the swing at night just make sure you have the straps that go over the shoulders and their waist if that is what makes them comfy and relaxed then i say go for it ..but safety first . Hope your lo gets past this phase soon...stay strong mom.

DS slept in the swing (7pm-7am) until he was 8-9 months old.

we didn't have the plug in swing, so every 4 days i would have to change the batteries whether it needed it or not, otherwise if the swing stopped all hell would break loose.

my friends DD was in the swing until she was 13 months old (sleeping overnight)

I say whatever works.
I just wanted to add a few tips that was our savior...
I had no issues with dd#1 so we were in complete shock when dd#2 had all these reflux issues. I began to experiment and thankfully it all worked out. I changed her formula from regular to soy. I put a tsp of rice in the bottle and thankfully it kept it down. I now started oatmeal and she is doing really well. Is your baby on meds for the reflux? Also have you tried the rock n play to get the baby out of the feeling of always being in motion? Its a start since the rock n play is slightly elevated. Thankfully, she is in the crib. We had a cosleeper the first time around and well....NOT AGAIN...LOLChat Icon
Good Luck!

There was a point where my one DD would only sleep in lamby swing. She exclusively napped in it and I would let her fall asleep in it at night and then transfer her to her bed. This was ongoing until about 9 months.

My son didn't sleep in a swing but we co-slept until just past 5 1/2 months. I couldn't bear to just straight up CIO. The thought of him crying in there thinking he was being punished or had done something wrong just killed me. I did Ferber. by the third day it took 5 minutes for him to get to bed. Now it takes less than 10 mins every night and sometimes, like last night...he falls right out immediately without even a whimper.
