TMI ? - do you plan to shave down there before delivery?
I know the hospital doesn't shave you anymore but just out of curiousity do any gals still do it themselves?

Who said the hospital doesn't shave you anymore? I have heard that some do a quick clean up.
edt: I am doing a quick clean up but doubt it will look good.

I hate hair so I always shave- feeling my way since I can't see it
They DO shave you at my hospital. They asked me if I needed to be shaved and I said it was already taken care of.

I have been trying to keep it cleaned up down there, but its getting hard now with the big belly I can't really see how good of a job I doing.
I still plan on shaving every other day until the big day comes.

Well that's a funny story. DD came surprisingly 3.5 weeks early. I had been "growing out" a bit b/c I had a wax in a few days. Well my water broke at 1:30am and with my nerves and excitement I never even thought about the barbarian I was. NSUH did not offer to shave me and when I realized that I had forgotten to, I continuously apologized to every nurse, intern, resident, janitor that came into my room! lol.

I had an emergency csection with DS at Good Sam and right before they wheeled me in the nurse asked another nurse if she needed to go get the razor and the nurse said that it was already shaved. How embarrassing lol.

Funny you mention I just cleaned up today incase I get an internal for my 36 week appt later. let's say it was tough even with a mirror
I also notice my south of the border lips are HUGE I really feel for those who have to look at that.

For a vaginal delivery they may not shave you but for a c-section they most CERTAINLY shave you.
Despite the fact that I shaved recently, they still broke out the shaving cream and razor when I got a c/s.

o boy!!! i'm terrified of going down there because in the past when i clean up/trim/shave it gets SUPER ITCHY when the hair is growing back! eek i wish i could just laser it all off!!! LOL

Yes, I always do anyway. For my c/s they didnt, I was happy bc I guess I did a good enough job

I am planning on booking my waxing appts weeks in advance so I have no excuse. I havent had one since my wedding about 1.5 yrs.

Ever since I hit 36 weeks I shave every couple of days so its nice and clean down there. Of course I can't see anything so I feel my way around

I've never heard of anyone getting shaved for a vaginal delivery.
For a C/S... they will shave you (but it's not really a close shave).
I'm not shaving. I shave my legs, inner thighs & I trim the hair short & neat down there, but call me old-fashioned... to fully shave/wax looks pre-puberty to me.

This must vary by hospital. I had an emergency csection and they only shaved the area around my incision. My sister is a surgeon and says that most hospitals stopped shaving awhile ago b/c you're actually more prone to infection. (Shaving gives you microscopic cuts that are apparently just asking for trouble).

Ditto! Glad I'm not the only one! I've had 2 vaginal deliveries and no one ever mentioned shaving me. Never even crossed my mind.

I've been trimming and trying to keep things neat down there. But I had to stop completely shaving bc the growing back with the itching was torture! It has been getting a lot more difficult lately though, I'll probably ask DH to help as I get closer so things don't look beastly.
