Anyone deliver in the new LIJ building yet?
I always joked around that I wouldn't have another baby until I could be sure I could deliver at the new LIJ Maternity Center - they were building it when I had my first. . .anyone actually deliver there yet?? Or see it in action?

Its suppose to open later this month(keep in mind they have changed it quite a few times). As of 2 weeks ago when my bf delivered it was not complete.

Its suppose to open later this month(keep in mind they have changed it quite a few times). As of 2 weeks ago when my bf delivered it was not complete.
I work for Lij its not opened yet. Supposedly the end of this month it is said to open but thats not a definate.

What's it like there now? My sister is going to give birth any day now, def won't make it until the end of the month. She's worried it's going to be hectic and congested in the old part.

I work there also and I just did a tour and it looks like they are all done just putting on the finishing touches and making it sparkle.
I have to say that the 6th floor where the nursery is awesome. If I wasnt having my baby at NSUH i would definetly have it there. 1/25 is the expected date for pts to be on the floors

I delivered there 2 weeks ago and it was not horrible. I had an emergency c-section 6 weeks early so my situation was a little crazy.I had pre-eclampsia so it was a little tough. The nurses were great but I did end up in quite a few rooms one which had 3 other women. I cried the next morning and was moved to a room with only one woman. The bathrooms were small but it was not hectic and crazy. My son is in the NICU there so Im there everyday looking at the new wing.

They have multiple hospitals... Huntington, Glen Cove, Plainview, Syosset, etc- so I was confused which one. I see online that the one in New Hyde Park has that actual name so I am assuming it's that one?

The security guard told me in November that it was supposed to open 1/2. The lights in the rooms are all off except a few, so I thought it opened (They had been all on up until December). But I did notice on Friday that the fencing is still up.
DS had new PICU room at Cohen's, next door, and I have to say it was really nice!
