Baby Shower under $25 PP?

I don't want to sound greedy but I am dreading my shower. I just got a call from my mom doesn't want to spend that much and is looking to have it in her basement or backyard (both of which are too small and the backyard is nasty). She thinks its a waste to go to a restaurant and though of the VFW which isn't my style but I am not knocking it.

When I got married, my bridal shower was a disaster and I am terrified of this turning south too.

Any ideas for places that aren't too expensive?

where are you located? our rehearsal dinner was at Sergio's in East Massapequa... the prices were very reasonable, I want to say like $20pp (but FIL paid so i'm not exactly sure)

Also going to say Sergio's. My sister is having my nieces birthday party there the second week of January and they were either $20 a person or slightly under. Check out their website. They have prices and menus on there.

I'm having mine at Crossroads in Hicksville, I don't know if it's less than $25 but I'm pretty sure it's like $27.

Grimaldi's in Garden City! A friend is having her sister's bridal shower there, and it's about 18 pp! No alcoholic drinks though, but I'm sure you could run a tab for the people that wanted them.
