So frustrating! Labor related...

So I posted last night about how I went to the doc and found out I was contracting (which I really didn't feel) and was almost 3cm. So this morning, I woke up with noticeable contractions. I times them for a little while, but they were mild and not in any regular pattern, so I went to work. As soon as I got in, my principal asked me what the update was (she's so excited for me and knew I was going to the doc yesterday), so I gave her the low down. Then we had a half hour meeting, during which I had 2 contractions. She asked me afterwards if I was contracting, because she said she could see it in my face. I told her I had 2 during the meeting and she insisted I go home . So I got my stuff and left. My contractions continued to intensify and I timed them all day- they were ranging from about 7-11 mins apart. Early afternoon, I went to the bathroom and lost a HUGE amount of mucus plug, and had a lot of bloody show. Then, around 3:30, I laid down to take a nap, and ever since then, everything has totally slowed down. Then, contractions were getting like 15-20 minutes apart, no real pattern at all. At one point, I had an hour and 10 minutes between 2 contractions! So my husband and I took our son and went out to do some shopping, so I could walk around a lot and hopefully get things moving. While were out, they started to fall into a 9-10 minute pattern for a while, but the contractions were a lot weaker than they had been. Now, we're home, and they've been like 13 or 14 minutes apart, but inconsistent, and somewhat weak. What the HECK is going on??? I totally thought I'd be at the hospital by now!! Ohh, I had this happen with my second...I felt like I was in labor for WEEKS because I would have mild (but still uncomfortable) contractions that became so regular and frequent that I went to L&D TWICE before I went into real labor. Both times, I had to leave work because I really thought I was going to have the baby and my boss/co-workers wanted me out the door, but once I rested and re-hydrated in L&D the contractions passed.
My midwife attributed it to my body "practicing" for labor -- very frustrating but seems all the practicing worked because I had a fast, sorta easy delivery with DS#2.

I would def. call the dr because of the bloody show....I had my bloody show, went to the dr, was 4-5 cm, and he sent me to the hsopital
