Moms w/toddlers in day care: a random food question
I started interviewing day cares for DD today. I liked the one I saw, but thought that the children eating meals in their classroom was kind of odd. (I work for the NYC Dept of Ed, and my principal forbade food in our classrooms b/c of issues with bugs and mice).
If you have/had a toddler in day care, where were their meals served?

The daycare Aj goes to has a kitchen area so they eat there, with the exception of the nursery. They in the rooms.
However, my nieces daycare is smaller and they eat in the room. since its like one big open space.

I wasn't really expecting a cafeteria (lol now I'm getting mental images of babies waiting on line for their bottles, then finding a spot with their friends). I was just surprised food wasn't served in a different room. But everything in one place seems to be the norm.
Thanks!!

Where DS goes to now in NJ there's a separate room to eat. Food isn't provided in this school so it's a kitchen and the food is in the fridge. Snacks are provided
At his daycare in LI they ate in the classrooms. Everyhing was cleaned real well and usually napped after lunch so the tables and floors are cleaned well

Ditto. It's pretty standard.

Yup, we visited about 10 centers and all were like that.
