after all this rain, and chance for rain tomorrow is pretty high
Every weekend we plan to do something, its rain rain rain. I'm so bummed.

No. Even if it doesn't rain tomorrow I still see it being a muddy mess. We're gonna shoot for next weekend. It's a bit of a trip for us (we usually go to Jersey) so I want to make sure its worth it.

I would call ahead. We went this week and slim pickings is what was left, we went to Davis Peach Farm.
We called a few places who said they had nothing left to pick, Davis said they had a lot, and I thought they were a complete ripoff.
Apparently, Irene, did a number on the crops this year.

We went upstate to Applewood Orchards and there were gazillion apples and entire sections that seemed to go on for miles that weren't even "open" for picking yet (but the apples were clearly ripe and plentiful). If you're worried about slim pickins I'd do upstate!

We went to Lewin Farms last weekend and came home with NOTHING! Not one single apple. They said that hurricane Irene wiped out most of it, and whatever there was that was edible was gone by the very beginning of the season. We still had fun though. Maybe call first & see if it's worth it.
