Question about leaving 1 yr old with a babysitter
Ok, so normally I would have a grandparent babysit and put dd to bed but we moved oos and don't have anyone. I am looking on sittercity and trying to get 1.
But my question is: Would you have dd, 14 months, already sleeping by the time she gets here? Obviously if we are going out that late. If we have to be somewhere early than they will do it.
My reaction was yes, she should be sleeping, ut what if she wakes up and we are not there. Will she freak out? My second guess would be to put her to bed before we leave but after the sitter comes so she sees her in the house.
What do you do?
Of course dd would meet the sitter a few times before we left her.

When are you going out? Could you have the sitter come while you are home and DD is up some time before the actual night? that way, she won't be alarmed if she does wake up?

I definitely wouldn't have the first meeting between DC and the sitter at midnight, if DC wakes up in the middle of the night...
I would think that as long as the sitter is introduced to DC during waking hours, it would be OK to have them come over after DC is asleep that evening.

She very rarley wakes up and if she does I never go in unless she is hysterical which has happend a handful of times so I am not really worried about it but was just wondering what other people do!!

I'd probably have the sitter get there just before bedtime, say hi, etc. and then I'd put DD to bed myself that first time.

Re: Question about leaving 1 yr old with a babysitter
I would have her come by on 2 separate days to spend some time with your DC. Depending what time you need to be out and how your child is for bedtime, I would let the babysitter put the kids to bed.
My babysitter is 20 and I have been using her for a year now. My kids love her and she is really interactive with them. She actually puts all 3 to bed with no problems (they are 3 months, 4 & 5).
