does everyone's 1.5year old + DC take a multi-vitamin?
I received a perscription for a multi vit with flouride but haven't given it to him yet b/c there are annoying restirctions to it such as
- no food, drink for 30 min after taking vit.
- take 2 hours before or after taking any products containing calcium.
Is everyone's vitamin like this?

no I just got the over the counter liquid enfamil vitamins. That what my doctor did. There is A LOT of debate about flouride. I would be hesitant to give it. and either call the dr. back and ask or go get over the counter

I usually give it after dinner, before his bath. BUT I haven't refilled the Rx in like 2 months, so lately, no, he hasn't been taking one.

my kids have been on prescription vitamins since 1 year. they don't have any restrictions as far as i know. i give it at breakfast

My ped rec enfamil poly vi sol with iron (no flouride), he said just put it in his milk. We give half a dose, because ds eats very well rounded diet.

I do enfamil poly vi sol...and have a script for flouride drops that I give a few times pwer week. DS is on chewables now, but I did the same with him as DD

thanks ladies! my mom just told me that poly vi sol is what my brother & I took when we were babies. I wonder why my ped gave me me this crap for DS??

Probably because of the fluoride, a lot of peds push it.

Kieran has been on prescription fluoride vitamins since 6 months. As far I know, there aren't any restrictions with them. I always give them to him when he wakes up in the morning and have never had any issues.

There is no fluoride in the water on LI.. It is needed for their teeth...DS has been on them since 6 months.. I was on them when I was 2...

Oops...There are over the counter drops without fluoride in them..

my son LOVES it  in fact, loves all meds. he opens his mouth right up and says yummmm after  that stuff looks and smells gross
but yes, he gets it every day before bed - well most days

Most days, when I remember lol. Ours aren't prescription. The ped recommends baby pled liquid by animal parade. No flouride for us, our ped is really against supplementing with it.

DD age 2 take multi vitiam and florid before bed. She didn't like the florid at first but then I used the word vitiam and magically she liked them. So now she does two vitiam and has become routine in our bed process

Definitely! We have the best water -- and too much flouride permanently stains teeth!
