Really people are just nasty!
Well another nasty comment from a co-worker. I would never in a million years ever ask what names someone picked and then make nasty comments. My friend at work always kids around with me because nothing really goes with my last name. It is a long Greek last night and things don’t flow but whatever it is what it is. He is joking and I know this. But this girl stands up from her cubicle and says well what are the names you picked and I said Amelia and Alexis. She gives a really nasty look and says really Amelia, I said yes Amelia. She says well that is an old lady name. I said actually that name is coming back and becoming more popular although I have loved it for years. She just gave another nasty look and sat down. I just will never understand people and how they think it is ok to say whatever comes to mind. If someone ever told me a name they were using that I did not like I would NEVER EVER say anything nasty about it.

I really dont know what people think sometimes. I dont expect everyone to like the name but there are polite ways to not offend people. I have not had any bad experiences with our name for DD, but you can def. tell when poeple really like it "Oh, I love that name, how beautiful" or when they are not crazy about it, "That's nice."

You can go on the social security administration website and check the popularity of names, Amelia is definitely becoming more popular!

First of all I LOVE the name Amelia, and for that matter Alexis too!!
great job in the name dept IMO!
Second, I HATE your coworker- for Pete's sake, why cant people keep their unwanted comments to themselves. She probably has an awful name and is just jealous !

Amelia really is making a comeback -- if you check the list of popular names with social security --since 2000 it's climbed the ranks.
Back then it was # 207 in popularity -- now it's #41.
I love the name and it's my daughter's middle name...so your co-worker can suck a d*ck.

Everyone asks me what we are naming  Although I really don't know yet, I'm not going to share when I do. I'm sick of people's comments. MY SIL was so adamant that we not name DS Charles that when he was born I was so unsure that I didn't name him that. I mean, I love his name now (Christopher) but its just the point. Don't listen to people and don't share anymore.
And by the way, those names are adorable!!!!

Amelia was the name we had picked if LO was a It's a gorgeous name. Alexis is awesome as well. Your coworker is an @ss.
