Hip Pain

Today I am 32 weeks and as of yesterday I am having pain in my right hip. Every time I sit and get up it's worst. I can barely walk when I get up. It only really feels better after I lay down or have my feet up. Has anyone experienced this and what can I do to ease the pain? I changed my chair at work to see if that helps at all.

Re: Hip Pain

If it's not the muscles (from having to sleep on your side) I would think it might be your joints starting to spread to prepare for labor?

Re: Hip Pain

Yes, my lamaze teacher said that hip pain is common because your body starts to prepare for labor. All of the bones start to soften to get your body ready...it is an amazing thing (how our bodies know what to do!).

Amazing but painful. Thanks for letting me know this. Hopefully the hip pain goes away soon.
