Hospital Classes...need help/advice
I am due in 9.5 weeks with our first child. After reading a bit on here, a lot of people go for classes. The two I am looking at are: 1) First Time Around Prepared Childbirth Course Super Class 2) Breast FeedingYour Baby Both are given at Good Samaritan where I will be delivering Questions: Has anyone taken these classes? Are they worth it? They are given this week. Is 31 weeks too early to take these classes? Would/did you bring your dh to the breast feeding one? Any other classes you would suggest either at Good Sam or elsewhere? Thank you!

Re: Hospital Classes...need help/advice
I am delivering at Winthrop. My hubby and I signed up for the Childbirth, Infant Care, the tour....and I signed up for the breastfeeding. We are taking all of these classes in the middle to end of July!

Re: Hospital Classes...need help/advice
I signed up for the classes at Stony Brook, they sound the same. It's a session of 3 classes. One is labor and delivery, one is breastfeeding and one is infant care. I'm taking them in August at 30, 31 and 32 weeks. ETA: I want to bring DH, but not sure if I can as they are all right in the middle of the day.

Re: Hospital Classes...need help/advice
I will be 32 weeks and am taking the class at Good Sam on Saturday the 9th. So maybe I will see u there. I already took the caring for your baby class and the it was informative and I really liked the lady giving the class. I am looking forward to Saturdays class.

Re: Hospital Classes...need help/advice
I am only taking CPR, which Winthrop is providing but it will be held at Destination Maternity. $70 per couple, $50 pp.
As for breastfeeding, I will take as much help as Good Sam will give me, and hire a LC if needed.
I figure I will wing the rest

Re: Hospital Classes...need help/advice
I was about 29 weeks when DH and I took our classes. We took them at Southside. We took the childbirth class together, it was one night for two weeks, and I took the breastfeeding class by myself. They were free. I thought they were great and very informative.
I wasn't able to bring DH to the breastfeeding class due to scheduling conflicts but there were a few guys there with their wives. It's good for them to be informed too!
