Hey Girls! My Little troublesome man is here!
What a fiasco!
a quick recap of what happened....
as some of you know, i was diagnosed with GD. over the past few weeks ive had high blood pressure as well but blood tests ruled out preeclampsia a few weeks prior. over the last week i had started getting all around pain in my stomach for hours on end and found out i had very low amniotic fluid.
after a bad weekend i called my high risk to come in and take a look at me on Monday and they sent me to the hospital due to my low fluids.
i was induced with ciutec (sp?) 5 times (over 20 hours!). i also started showing signs of preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome and low platelets (which meant i couldnt get an epidural). Apparently i was having a downward spiral of things and was becoming increasingly and dangerously sick. i was put on Magnesium to try and help.
i wasnt dilating past 1cm after over 20 hours so they started me on pitocin and gave me a pain killer through my IV since i couldnt get an epi. i dilated quickly to 8cm but the baby's heart rate started dropping as i was moving around. they quickly changed the game plan, tested my platelets, gave me clearance for an epi and did an emergency csection.
thats the short version! it was a very intense and scary process for me because i had situations that just kept mounting!
but without further adiu...i introduce you to my little trouble maker weighing in at a hefty 4lbs 10oz...Gavin Tyce

when reading you story as soon as you wrote about the pain i knew IMMEDIATELY you were going to say you had HELLP. i had a similar situation with pre-e and HELLP syndrome but your situation was better than mine. you are sooooo lucky you were able to get an epi and be awake for your section!! congrats!! sounds like everything worked out for the best and your little cutie is adorable!!
