If you were induced..

for this pregnancy or in the past, why were you?

Also, did you wind up with a c-section or vag birth?

Re: If you were induced..

Induced due to high/erradic blood pressure and delivered via c-section after 18 hours of labor and 1 1/2 of pushing. Not ideal but worth it for sure.

Hoping to VBAC this go around.

Re: If you were induced..

Induced b/c as of 5 days late I wasn't dialated or effaced at all.. ended up wtih a c section 24 hours labor.

I had elevated fluid which made the baby "float" high and never really drop to dialate me. after 24 hours of back labor (he was facing the wrong way) I was still only 2cm dialated and baby started to actually swell my cervix.. so they did a c-section

Re: If you were induced..

induced because my water broke at home but I was not having contractions and not dilated at all. I got one round of cervadil and after 12 hours was having contractions but not dilated at all. they couldnt do a second round because I was on a time limit since my water had broken and baby's heartrate was erratic so I ended up with a c section. It was classed as a failed induction.

Re: If you were induced..

Induced because of low amniotic fluid. I had a vaginal delivery.

Re: If you were induced..

My second child was via induction.

I was already 3CM/80% effaced for about a week. I went in for my regular OB appt and his heart rate was too low (between 100-110 instead of the usual 145 it had been)

My MD monitored me and wasn't comfortable letting me continue the pregnancy.

I had a small dose of pitocin at 11PM and delivered (without pain drugs) 3:24AM vaginally.

Re: If you were induced..

I was induced at 40 weeks due to chronic high blood pressure. I didn't need the cervidil. I was given pitocin at 9 am and delivered at 4:08 pm vaginally. I progressed rather quickly and after 4 or 5 pushes the baby was here. I had a positive experience.

Before going into the induction I was 2cm.

Re: If you were induced..

Induced at 40w 3d due to rising BP and shear readiness. Wasn't effaced or dilated at all, and baby hadn't descended into the cervix yet.

Cervadil at 1:30 am, was at 5-6cm by 9:30 am, started pushing at 5:08 pm....and DS was born at 6:24 pm - vaginally.

Re: If you were induced..

Induced because water broke at home, wasn't dilated or effaced, was GBS positive and needed antibiotics.

Three rounds of Cervadil and then Pitocin to get me moving, then intense back labor. Was told if I wanted a vaginal birth, epidural was a medical necessity. Took the epi, slept, dilated and delivered DD vaginally the next day. It was a LONG process but it worked.

Hoping this one won't be the sameChat Icon

Re: If you were induced..

My induction was scheduled for 41 weeks, 1 day, and then at my appointment on that day, they saw that my fluid was low(my water may have been leaking)...but it didn't really matter at that point since I was heading to the hospital that night to be induced...except that they monitored the babies heart rate non-stop from the time I got to the hospital, which pretty much meant I was stuck in bed...

I was only a fingertip dilated

I got cervadil around 7pm, and they took it out at 7am the next morning and started pitocin...My water broke the rest of the way around 2:00. The contractions kicked in full force around 3:30 pm, and by 4:30 pm they were right on top of each other and lasted for at least a minute...they measured the intensity of the contractions, and said they were very intense...at this point I begged for pain meds (which I was 100% NOT going to do...HA!), they helped me relax for the 60 seconds in between contractions, but didn't do much to take the edge off the pain during a contraction...they let me get the epi at 3cms, and I progressed to 6 cms quickly, but stalled out at 6 for 3 hours...the baby was still high, and since my water had already broken, I went in for a c-section at midnight...baby born at 12:04, and c-section done by 12:40. From the time I got the cervadil to the time I had the baby it was 29 hours...had I known, I would have begged to skip straight to the c-section...

The c-section was not as bad as I thought it would be, and I even got to nurse the baby in the recovery room...which was a top priority of mine! I planned to have a completely natural birth, and the exact opposite happened...but there was nothing I could do about it since DD decided she didn't want to come out! Regardless, it is 100% worth it in the end!

Re: If you were induced..

Induced due to low amniotic fluid-
c-section due to stress on baby's heartrate from the pitocin.

Re: If you were induced..

Induced with #1 3 days past due date. Resulted in C Section b/c dd's heartrate was erratic from the cervadil/crazy contractions and after 15 hours I only got to 4 cm. Also when they broke my water she had pooped in it so it was morew urgent to get her out

Re: If you were induced..

Induced around my DD. Did not progress even after they broke my water, and DS was also sunny side up. Ended up with a c section.
