UPDATE-Prayers and Encouragement Pls
Hi Ladies,
I dont post on here much but am sharing my story...
Im due august 13 and am 32 weeks- EVERYTING was perfect until now...
dh and i knew that this was a stressful couple of weeks-
last fri we moved back to my parents house (still not settled in yet of course),followed by a whirled wind wknd of my bday,bridal shower, friends baby birthday,fathers day, AND helping my mom with the baby shower that is this sat...then to top it all off work has been crazy busy as im covering for a coworker who is overseas on top of my own massive work....
tuesday work day began crazy stressful, by the afternoon was feeling cramping but was so busy wasnt trying to pay too much attention to it thinking it would go away, by the time i left work (at 8pm!) i was scared that i was getting period-like cramps that were coming in waves (still in complete denial its contrations) dh has dr call me from the lirr and tells me to go to the hospital right away- after the admit me they tell me my contractions were five min apart and 2cm dilated!!! They put me on magnisium after a shot to stop the contractions didnt work. so they started to brace us for the possibility of delivering the baby early. gave me a shot of steroids so the baby lungs would develop faster and be stronger it was a very scary night..
now they have managed to all but stop contractions and moved me to a more stable room. They said there is no way I will leave the hospital till mon/tues which means i'm totally missing my bb shower, and there are lots of family flying in for it. I'm being put in bed rest untill i hit 36 weeks-missing my work shower too which bums me out also, it is what it is...
most important thing baby is ok tho, pls pray i make it to 36 weeks! sorry so long
UPDATE: THANK YOU so much ladies for your encouragement. Ive been here in the hospital for two weeks already-had some scares along the way but am doing ok and baby is perfect. They decided they want to keep me here another 2-3 weeks until I have the baby. Been trying to keep myself busy-cross stitching a blanket, procrastinating thank you cards (my husband attended my shower for me), and now i have a netbook here so i feel much more connected! Wish Iwas home so I can at least do some nesting and prepping but i suppose i'll have to do it fast when i get home. Have to do whats best for baby!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! That really blows. 
You must be a nervous wreck. The good news is that the doctors are aware of the problem and are handling it accordingly. Everything will be okay. Hang in there!

Just try and relax. Do what the docs tell you. The steroids for the baby is a good thing if you have to deliver early. I delivered at 33 weeks and my little 3 lb baby is now a perfectly healthy 2 year old!!!

That suckss balls, but you are rightthe important thing is the baby and YOU are ok. This is your bodies way of saying slow down this isn'tyour body right now. I had similar issues and delieverd at 36w2d. My daughter is healthy and spent 4 days in the NICU due to lack of eating. When you get home STAY IN BED! I am living proff bedrest is important. Like I said I delivered at 36w2d, and my water broke at 36w1d. I was on bedrest until 36wks. FM if you would like
Lots of us have been here and maybe they can do something for your shower when you get home. Instead of having it somewhere else have it at home and stay on the couch. Call it a "Lazy Baby Shower" or a "Pajama Party Baby Shower" Everybody can come in pj's or sweats and just have fun lounging and eating comfort food.
