2 yr old and changing daycares (with a few weeks in between)... wdyt?
DD is 22 months and has been at daycare for 2 months now. We love where she is and she loves it, but we get 60% ( ) off at another brand new center right near our house starting in August when it opens. So it's a no brainer to switch.
We're going to NY for 11 days in July so we were thinking of her last day her current daycare being the day before we leave for NY. When we get back, IL's said they would watch her for the 2-3 weeks in between until the new place opens in August.
We were originally thinking of leaving her in the daycare she's at now for those 2 or 3 in between weeks, but to save that money would be great and she loves being with MIL. Just worried about another transition after that, but she did do well 2 months ago when she started daycare for the first time. wdyt?

No.... She will be fine! Have her stay home with her grandparents. You will save money, they will get that time together. It will just be a long vacation from daycare fir her. The transition to the new place will be an adjustment for her regardless, so you may as well take your inlaws offer!

I think it would be fine to leave her with MIL for 2-3 weeks.
It's not like it's a completely new environment she has to adjust to.
Since MIL use to watch her I would think it would be almost comparable to her being home for 2-3 weeks. Same comfort level.
And since she adjusted so well the first time, I'm sure she will adjust again to the new place.

I agree with the PP. Have your IL's watch her then start her at the new place. At that age they're more resiliant and will adjust more easily. I think change is harder on us. I remember being upset when DS's daycare teacher left that he's know for so long. WHen they were going through a transition and looking to hire they just had assistants or the Director in the room. He was totally fine and now he loves the new teacher they hired. Didn't even look back.
She'll be fine and enjoy the savings with the new place!

I agree. And I'm sure the transition will go smoothly since she did so well with it 1st time around!

Thanks, yes all these changes are definitely harder on us! I'm definitely overthinking this but I was worried she'd think she's going to be staying with MIL again for good. But I know she loves daycare and being with other kids too... hoping she adjusts just as well as she did when she started!
