Shower location question...

So let me disclaim this as I am originally from New York but currently live in Pittsburgh. As such I will be having 2 baby showers...1 in New York for my family and friends from growing up...and 1 in Pittsburgh with husbands family/friends and my friends.

We have booked my NY shower at a Chinese buffet in Ronkonkoma. This buffet is always packed on the weekends and the weekdays (so you know its good) and we have been going here for years.

The good thing is that they have separate areas for the showers (usually have few showers going on at once) and they let you bring your own cake, decorations and alcohol (so you can bring your own wine and not get charged a corking fee). This is good for my mom since the location is extremely affordable and we have to pay for our travel down there and she really is tight on money.

Really don't need anything fancy just as long as everyone has fun. I feel the decorations and people are most important anyway.

It is the same place we had my wedding shower at and we did not hear any complaints...

Do you think this location will be okay...I don't want people thinking we are Ghetto or thinking location is lame..hehe

Re: Shower location question...

Crystal Garden? My DH's family has done several events there....

The way I see it, the event is what you make it...the decorations, the cake, the guest of honor, the gifts/wishing well. The place you have it is kind of background noise, KWIM? There are a lot of choices of food for people to pick what they want, it fits in your budget, and it works for you....so I say go for it!!

ITA!

If you like it, go for it! (assuming you don't have issues with sodium in Chinese food!)
