12 week scan - blood clot??
Hi Ladies;
I am hoping there have been others with this experience to tell me what to expect. Last night I went for my 12 week sono and they found a blood clot in my uterus. They want to do another sono in two weeks. For right now he told me to take it easy and pelvic rest but of course I am still freaking out! He said the most probable cause was that my placenta pulled/stregthed away from the uterus a little and caused a bleed. Of course when I went home to google it there are all these things about that I would now be at greater risk of this happening throughout the pregnacy and how dr would have to deliver the baby right away if it did seperate too much - no matter how far along I am....
Of course I am now terrifed and looking for anyone with a similar story and what happened? They also said it could be totally fine and disslove by itself or bleed out (in which I would bleed but it would only be the clot blood).
Thanks ladies!

I would certainly ask about adding lovenox-blood thinner. there is a chance the clot will go away by itself, but i would insist on lovenox, to be safe. do not be scared, it is common

Re: 12 week scan - blood clot??
Let me preface this by saying I really know nothing about blood clots in the uterus during pregnancy.
But I was told I have thrombophilia, which is a blood clotting issue that has to be monitored. I see a wonderful perinatologist who monitors me regularly, Dr. Kofinas. I feel I am in such good hands with him and his staff.
Before I saw a perinatologist, Dr. Pillitteri - the very first time I saw him EVER - he put me on baby aspirin. He told me it was to increase blood flow around the uterus. This proved to be the best thing I could have done early on and I thank God I found such a well informed and proactive doctor.
Maybe ask to see a peri natologist and just ask about the baby aspirin. I'm kind of surprised they don't want to se you sooner than 2 weeks, but what do I know?
Good luck!!

I would also ask about baby aspirin or Lovenox. I am on BA when I'm not pregnant..and currently on Lovenox during pregnancy. I never had a clot, but they found a clotting disorder after I had 2 miscarriages.
I would definitely ask about this ASAP
that all is well!
