Growing out of Sneakers/Sandals - Need BTDT Advice Please

I bought DS two pairs of sandals from Target prob about a month and half ago. They didn't have half sizes (which he is) so I went up half a size. Of course, now he's almost at toe overhang on them and they literally look brand new!Chat Icon I totally have to get him new sandals before we come up to NY! How much bigger do you think you can go up in size safely? I would like him to get more than a month or two out of shoes or sandals, but don't want them so big that he is tripping over his feet!

I wouldn't go over more than 1/2 a size. You will be buying shoes every 3 months or so as they are growing, it just comes with the territory. If you don't have a shoe habit already, having a kid is good way to get one! lol

DS has had more shoes than I have in the last 2 years.

When I go to stride rite they tell me to go up 1/2 size. I suggest you dont do what I do and go up a full size. Two pairs of sandals I just bought DS he cant wear because he flops out of them (even with the straps the tightest).Chat Icon he fits in them towards the end of the summer

I wouldn't go up more than 1/2 a size as well.

DS outgrew his size 4 sneakers and I bought him size 5 (with the help of a shoe salesman) and they are huge on him and keep on flopping off. Luckily, I found a smaller pair with laces from Kohls that stay on better.

For sandals - I wouldn't want to go bigger than 1/2 a size either because I'm sure he would trip over the toes.

For his everyday sandals, I went to Kohls - I got 2 pairs for $8 each.

Sell 'em! DS for a while got only a month out of his Stride Rite sneakers, and I sold them on here and ebay! He's up to a 10 now and seems to have leveled off a bit. Chat Icon

I got Will's keens sandals at Marshalls for $13!
