Upset

I failed my one hour glucose tolerance test by 2 points. Now I have to go for the 3 hour. It was miserable enough sitting there for 1 hour. I was good the day before too and I watched my sweets. Has anyone else failed by a small margin. What was the outcome for the 3 hour?

if you only failed by 2 points you should be fine for the 3 hour. however i woudnt alter your diet for the test. if there is a problem with your sugars you WANT to catch it and take care of it, not dodge it and have a hidden problem.

i failed both tests and dreaded the 3 hour but i just brought a book with me and read in between or played on my phone. its a little annoying but its not THAT bad. you'll be ok

I think you'll be fine. I failed my 1 hour by 20 points and still passed my 3 hour!! Good Luck!!!

ugh sorry! I know someone on here just failed the 1 hour by like a point or 2 and went on to pass the 3 hour test, so I'm sure youll be fine!

I failed by 1 point and had to take the 3 hour, which I passed.

I"ve heard there's nothing you can do to 'prep' for the test, it just measures how your body processes the glucose drink.

I was definitely not happy to take the 3 hour, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - bring a book or something else to keep you occupied while you're waiting!

Thanks, I hope I pass. I have been extra emotional lately and this is just making me super upset. My aunt was a very bad diabetic so it just scares me.

I wouldn't alter your diet as GD is a very serious condition if not monitored properly and "fooling" the test will only cause danger for you and your unborn child.

I failed my one-hour but passed the 3-hour with flying colors, and diabetes runs in my family on both sides. I was told that 85% of people who fail the one-hour go on to pass the 3-hour.

I failed my 1 hour and my dr told me not by much......and passed my 3 hour. You should be fine.....and I agree don't alter ur diet....eat normally :)

Failed the one hour with DD by a small amount.

To make matters worse my office calls me back, the girl forgot to mention that my iron was low and I now have to take an iron supplement once a day. She was just the bearer of good news today.

i was told i failed the 1 hour and then basically forced to retake it (the doctor kept on repeating the words fetal demise)
after that, i changed my doctors who had me do the three hour. i passed with flying colors! (of course after my records were transferred over 3 MONTHS LATER! i found out i never failed the 1 hour and the doctor lied to me! thank god i found a new one!)

Ehhh this happen to me. My doc. sent me just to be safe. The woman taking my blood said that docs send people who just failed all the time. The docs don't want to take the chance. Mine came back fine! GL!!!!!!!!!!!
