Looking for an Apt that takes dogs!

My husband and I are looking for an apartment that will take my two dogs. Anything West of Nesconset and Nassau is ok. Just trying to stay out of the bad areas b.c. I am alone a couple nights a week. Thanks!!! Let me know if you know of any!

We currently are in an Avalon complex (moving this month) and pets are allowed. There is a fee but Im not sure how much bc we managed to get away with it in the interm.

I also believe the Fairfield complexes allow pets for an extra fee.

I used to live in Long Beach as well, and I don't know if that's too far away for you, but a lot of the buildings allow dogs for an extra fee.

We are currently renting ( short term) in the Hampshire House in Garden City...until we close on our house.

It's Condos- but a lot of the units are rented out by the owners. They allow all size dogs. We have a Golden Retriever.

before we bought we were looking at apts that took pets. most have breeds that they don't allow, and they all have a fee. avalon in melvlle is really nice, and they allow pets. fairfield does too but you couldn't pay me to rent from them. everyone I know that has rented from them has had a million issues. do a search of fairfield complaints and you will see what I mean.

good luck! I know there are plenty of places. if your budget allows, consider renting a house off craigslist too. sometimes you get more for your money, but you have to just do a little yeard work and such. your pets would probably like that more too Chat Icon

We live in a Fairfield now, they don't like that one of my dogs is half pitt and refuses to renew our lease when we have lived with them for over 2 years now. Devonshire only takes one dog...so frustrating!! Thanks!!
