C-Section--Does anyone know....
how long you typically stay in the hospital before you're released?

I had c-section on a tuesday at 3:00pm and was released saturday morning.. I could have gone home Friday though.. but really..take as long as you can!!

The minimum is 3 nights. They gave me an extra night with my first son, so I stayed 4 nights. My second son I left after the third night because I wanted to come home to DS#1

4 days for my first, 3 days for my second. My Dr gives me the option of going home on the 3rd day.

I had a c-section on a Thursday and was released on Sunday. It's typically 3-4 nights for a c-section.

Same here, and I wish I stayed the extra night because I had some complications on that last day and I probably could have used one more night.

I was admitted saturday morning released wednesday morning. I had to stay one extra day due to a fever.

I had her at 9:44 Wednesday morning and they told me I'd leave Sunday afternoon, but after checking me on Friday and asking if I feel well enough to go home, they released me on Saturday.

I had DD on Friday night and was released Monday morning- which was a day early. I wish I would've stayed the extra day. They did send a nurse to my house to follow up on Tuesday though.

For DS I had him Wednesday night (10:30 pm) and was discharged on Sunday morning (10:30 am). For DD I also had her on a Wednesday but in the early morning (9 am) and left on Saturday afternoon (2 pm) Hour wise I was in the hospital the almost the same amount of time.

Insurance will usually cover 4 NIGHTS. So for instance I had DS at 8:41pm on Tuesday, so I could have stayed until Saturday AM.
However most Drs will give you teh option of leaving after the 3rd night if you are feeling up to it. With both my DS's I left after my 3rd night.
