silly question - weeks pregnant
went to the doc today and i am 5w4d...i know they count from the first day of your last period - but i know i O'd the first weekend in may, so cant be anymore that 3.5w pregnant....it just feels really weird to say 5w when i know its not? I was trying to explain to DH but he doesn't get it lol.

At conception you are usually considered around 2 weeks pregnant. So someone who is 8 weeks ast got aunt flow 8 weeks ago but conceived around ovulation which is around 6 weeks ago

Look at it this way...your body was preparing for pregnancy by shedding the old liner and building a new one.

it sounds weird but its how they count it. your body was already prepping and the egg was there just not fertilized.
you are also technically pregnant for 40 weeks which is 10 months not 9 months like everyone else says

That's not really true, because those first (roughly) 2 weeks, as we are talking about, you aren't actually pregnant. And each month (except February) is 4 and a half weeks, not just 4, so the 40 weeks actually does work out to 9 months pregnant.
