Waterbugs (advice needed)
ok so I used to get them in my apartment when I lived on 5th floor. I am in Queens so I was used to it. It only happened twice a year. I'd get one in the dead of winter and the hottest day of summer.
I am now in the top floor of a house. The biggest bug I had was a moth. Occasional small spider ok. But my husband told me at 5am he saw a waterbug on kitchen sink.
I am surprised a HOUSE had one. But since it was so hot last night... but this is a HUGE house with 4 floors.
Did any of you in a HOUSE (most likely Queens) ever get one?
I had bought the baits when I moved in in case so I laid them out this am along with a sound thingie I used once for mice when I first moved in my old place (ps they really work).
We are also going to move the stove to check for holes in wall. I checked cabinets when I first moved in (above and below) and they are fine.
ps: My drains were closed.

Re: Waterbugs (advice needed)
Growing up in my parents house I used to see water bugs in the summer in the basement and a lot of centipedes and they live in Queens. So yes it does happen in a house.

They can come through the drains. I would block my drains at night if I were you. Not so odd even in a house.

Drains are closed but good advice! I batten down hatches due to my building experiences lol
The owner is having exterminator come (she is very nice) but I want to try to avoid as much as possible.

Re: Waterbugs (advice needed)
I think bugs just get into houses...its a fact of life and no way around it really. I wouldn't be too concerned about just one.
Also, with all the rain we've been having, it increases your chances of bugs coming indoors b/c they ground is so waterlogged. They need somewhere to go.

Re: Waterbugs (advice needed)
Yeah that's true. I am glad it's not a roach and waterbug though. THey are just looking to go somewhere. We had so much rain and the moisture doesn't help. I live in a suburban part of Queens so it's kind of worse.
I found out the Family that lives below me gets it in the basement time to time. Thanks for the advice ladies.
