Diaper 101
Please help, I'm trying to figure out what to buy.
When you change a diaper under normal circumstances, if the baby does not have any sort of diaper rash or anything, do you still put some sort of lotion on the baby's butt? Like aquaphor or something?
If you use lotion on a daily basis for the diaper area, please let me know what kind.
Thanks!

Re: Diaper 101
Never used any creams, powders or lotions with DD unless she had a rash.
If so, use triple paste cream, boudreaux's butt paste or Aquaphor.
Everyone differs but this is what I did.

Re: Diaper 101
I put it on every time. I like to have a border between baby and diaper. But everyone has a different opinion. I use whatever's on sale, unless he has a rash, I'll use Bourdeaux or Triple Paste.

Re: Diaper 101
I never put anything on, if there was no rash. At night however, I would put a little vaseline on DS butt since hed be in that diaper longer.

Re: Diaper 101
I use Desitin after every diaper change. If DS has really bad diaper rash I use a mixture of triple paste and baby powder. I mix the two so its very thick.....works like a charm!!!I didn't start using cream until DS was 1 month bc his skin was sensitive. I would just use wet paper towels to wipe him during first month too!
Everyone is different though. Best advice....Get a small tube of Desitin just to have on hand but wait to see how your DC's skin is.

Re: Diaper 101
I used Johnson and Johnson baby powder at every diaper change unless she had a diaper rash and then it was A&D zinc or triple paste. She really only gets diaper rash unless she poops at night in her sleep or is teething.

When DS was little, I used destin after every change. Now we only use it after poopy diapers.
