When can the gender of a baby be seen?
I dont remember if I asked this already but...
at how many weeks can the Dr. determine the sex of the baby?

Both pregnancies I found out at 20 weeks, but I know people who have found out earlier (like 16 weeks).

Some dr's will take a guess at the 12w sono but that is only 75% accurate.

with DS, the tech said she could say with 90% accuracy it was a boy at the 12 week sono. At the 18 week, she confirmed it was 100% a boy.

Re: When can the gender of a baby be seen?
After 14 weeks, the genitalia is discernible between girl or boy. So theoretically after that point you can really tell the sex by sonogram.
That said, many people find out at their level II appointment which is between 19-21 weeks I believe.

I found out at 16w. The doc said at that point, it's either there or it's not

Re: When can the gender of a baby be seen?
We were told there was a possibility to see the gender at 12 weeks but they couldn't...at my 16 week sono we were told and had it confirmed at every sono since!

Re: When can the gender of a baby be seen?
We were told it's a at 20 weeks. I had to go back at 21 weeks and at that time I wanted to confirm, but the baby's legs were crossed so they couldn't tell. I'm taking their word for it cause everything we have for this baby is girly. If it ends up being a we would have so much to change!
