traveling to your shower
how far is too far to travel to your shower?
DH's parents live in suffolk, my parents live an hour north of the city (orange county). DH and I currently live in manhattan but are probably moving closer to the Orange County area Aug 1st.
I know talks about my shower have started and they are planning something in August/early Sept. before I get too late (with twins they are worried I'll go early). If they do late August, I'd be like 28+ weeks.
So I overheard a convo about places in Nassau county. Now, I get they are trying to pick a place that is convenient for both families...but should I be traveling an hour and a half or more for my shower at that point?
I don't know if I should say something or just let it go....What do you ladies think?

Re: traveling to your shower
I dont think Nassau is a long trip from the city. Im out in Suffolk and its less than an hr train or a 45 min drive.

Re: traveling to your shower
i would do queens or brooklyn or at least western nassau - just convenient for the most people. it's not should you be traveling 1.5 hours; it's do you want to. but my shower is when I'm 36 weeks and that's kind of late and about 40 minutes away; it doesn't bother me. I know you're having twins but at 28 weeks I think it's okay. still, get them to go a little further west, especially if you have to get all the gifts to your house after.

Re: traveling to your shower
I live in Suffolk and most of DH's family is out here as well. My family/friends are all in Nassau/Western Nassau. I am probably going to plan it somewhere near the border, which for me is like a 30 min car ride, really not fair, but not much I can do about it.
I would rather it closer to my home, but then half my invitees would not come and I would rather have them.
