Sonograms and Insurance

I seem toi have a lot of questions the last two days

I have Oxford Insurance and was told by my docs office (and insurance company confirmed) that anything after my 3rd sonogram requires auhorization by the insurance company.

Anyone have any experience with this and can tell me whether the authorizations are generally granted (assuming that you dont have complications and the doctor routinely does a 4th or 5th sonogram)?

I have Oxford and needed additional sonograms for extra tests we needed done. Every one was covered.

Basically what happened is the doctors office requests the extra sonos, and the insurance company will send you a letter letting you know if/when it is covered. We had no problems, the doctor just needs to provide proof that it is medically neccessary.

I have Oxford and I've always been approved of my sonos after the 3rd!
