Wow... Pregnant and Lovenox?!?
Ladies, I am so happy that my betas and progesterone continue to rise (all 2 days apart) and Dr. B says they look "great"! 1st Beta - 19 2nd Beta - 115 3rd Beta - 386 Progesterone - hanging in the 20-25 range Sooooooooooo relieved!
The recurrent panel is 90% complete and it turns out I have a clotting disorder. Dr. B wants me to start Lovenox tommorrow and baby asprin in the meantime. So any advice about the Lovenox?!? I am nervous but willing to do anything to carry to term. I am just over four weeks now. He says its okay that I haven't been taking it until now. Thoughts? Advice? Did you go into the office to learn to do the shots? Thank you so much in advance!

Re: Wow... Pregnant and Lovenox?!?
This is my 3rd pregnancy on Lovenox, it's really not bad.
I give myself 2 shots per day.
I never thought I would be able to do it but it's a small needle and it's really such a small thing, especially compared to what you probably went through to get to this point

Re: Wow... Pregnant and Lovenox?!?
First off...congrats!!! My RE put my on lovenox when I was 6 weeks. I have been giving myself various other shots for the past year so compared to the other shots the lovenox is not bad at all. However, after about a week I did not like doing it in my stomach and my doctor said I could give myself the shot in my upper thigh - which I find MUCH better. Good Luck!!!

Re: Wow... Pregnant and Lovenox?!?
Congrats!!! I've been on Lovenox since the beginning of my pregnancy. My perinatal doctor put me on it at 8 weeks pregnant and gave me a 5 min lesson on how to give it to myself. I make my hubby give it to me in the morning. It stings a liitle, but it's really not that bad. I will be on it until 2weeks after I deliver. Good Luck.

Re: Wow... Pregnant and Lovenox?!?
Ive been on Lovenox since 8 weeks. I was TERRIFIED at first, but it's not bad at all. I didn't go to the drs to have them show me. I looked it up online...and the pharmacist told me, and the directions are very clear.
It's simple. The syringe is prefilled, so you just poke it in your belly, and press.
Tips:
ICE the area first. Do this really well. It helps a lot.
Squeeze the area when you give yourself the shot.
Give the shot VERY slowly. Press down slow. For me that helps.
My love handles dont bruise like my stomach. So I alternate sides and areas on my love handles/sides/hip area.
Lay or sit while you do it.
I cried the first time and bruised badly, but after that it's been fine. It's like nothing now. I made my husband do it for me at first. A few days ago was the first time I did it myself, and it's not bad at all!. You get used to it. Any questions FM!
AND CONGRATS!
