Insomnia is making me miserable
I really don't know what to do anymore. I tried taking Tylenol PM and it helped but took a while to kick in. Then I realized I was taking it every night and decided that no matter what the midwives said about it not being addiction forming, I didn't want to take it all the time, so I decided not to take it last night....and I didn't sleep AT ALL!!! I tossed and turned and layed there until it was time to get up
I had to work this morning, was with DD this afternoon and tried to nap but she kept coming over and hugging and kissing me I love her but just wanted to sleep Now I am at work again til 9PM
I just need to vent. My heartburn is really intense right now and I feel like I could fall asleep right here right now.
Just miserable today.

Re: Insomnia is making me miserable
I am sorry that you are feeling miserable. Have you tried Melatonin? It's sold at health food stores and I think at any CVS pharmacy. I was also told we can take Benedryl at night to help you sleep.
Heartburn sucks. I feel for you. Feel better!

Re: Insomnia is making me miserable
I'm sorry :( I have insomnia too but am afraid to take anything. Its so frustrating not to be able to fall asleep when you're exhausted.

be careful taking this, the FDA does NOT regulate melatonin at all, and its considered natural which is not always recommended during pregnancy. talk with your dr first.
No one should ever take more then .5 mg-1mg a day and since its not regulated by the FDA you can't be 100% sure how much is in each pill
look into the thesleepdoctor.com he has written a book that is excellent, and he has also been on Dr oz. I heard him on cosmo radio yesterday. he markets himself now as the sleep diet but I took away from it no diet info just how to sleep better!
somethings he said no caffeine 6-8 hrs before sleep no computer or cell phone 1 hr before sleep because the bright light and close promixity to the screen actually stimulates the brain (but tv is ok because your much further away) no excercise 2-3 hrs before bed again it gets the bloods flowing
he said to eat some cheese and crackers around the dinner hour its slow to digest and enough carbs.
no snooze button. it takes your brain 12-18 mins to actually fall asleep to the point where its actually resting. if you wake before that, it has the reverse effects on you.
he also noted the facts about the melatonin

Re: Insomnia is making me miserable
I had it so bad with ds#1, I ended up taking benadryl just for the reason it knocked me out. HEartburn was bad too, so I'd sit up all night drying chocolate milk I hope you get some rest!! Maybe grandma and grandpa can take your daughter for a night or afternoon so you can just jump in bed and sleep!
