Talk to me about a short cervix....UPDATE at bottom
My cervix was measuring 2.9. The sono doctor wants me to come back in 2 weeks (instead of 4) to check.
It is closed and she said it is probably fine but should be measuring 3 so it was "borderline short".
She did not tell me to modify anything but I am nervous and will probably not do my walks and stuff until I go to the dr again.
Any ladies have this and end up with no issues? TY

I'm going through this now. I was holding steady at 3.1 for weeks but at my last sono I measured 2.5. Now I'm on a modified rest but when I was 3.1 my doctor said that I could no longer do aerobics classes or lift heavy things. I was allowed to walk though. They said if I drink plenty of fluid and rest, it can grow longer. I go back on Monday so I'll let you know.

Totally upping my water intake (need to do that anyway) did not know this helped, thank you

Yes, I have been at 2.9 since I was 17 weeks and am now 30. I dropped to 2.5 and went back to a 3. I was never restricted, but monitored every two weeks. I took it easy myself in the beginnig and when it dropped. I would just it a little easy, it can only help. Good luck

I'm 26 weeks with twins, 2 weeks ago I was at 4cm and now I'm 2.2 the dr has me on modified bedrest, no steps, lifting, minimal walking and keeping my feet up most of the time. I have to go back next Wed to measure again.

O wow.. good to know!!! I will be guzzling down H2O from now.. I slowed down my water intake for some odd reason last week.. will be chugging it down now.

I have this as well and had preterm contractions on and off that I couldn't even feel. I was put on bed rest until I deliver. It's been 6 weeks of bed rest so far and I am due june26. My doctors said they are just very cautious.

I had this and the doctor put me on a fake kind of bedrest.
Basically I went to work, sat down with my feet up, went home and went straight to bed.
It did not shorten any further after that point. . . .and I was able to go back to normal but no exercise or anything strenuous.
However, I went six days late.

So I called my dr (bc lastnight I met with the radiologist and a PA) and he said he does not want me to wait 2 weeks and so I am going tuesday to see how my cervix is. He said if I need a stich in my cervix we have to get it done soon....so I am glad I called him afterall! I will feel better having him check me since up until now I have not seen anyone in the office but him.

This is what I just KNOW is going to happen to me. My doctor told me to plan on not going full term, the baby will probably be here a month early, etc. So now I'm thrown into panic mode b/c I have NOTHING done and I really can't do anything either b/c of my fake bedrest. I'm due 8/31 and I just KNOW I'll be getting induced on 9/7 LOL
